hi, I've played badminton about 5 months, now want to upgrad the $30 requcket to a new mp99 or ns7000, which one you guys think may fit to me? (in fact, I don't really know what's difference there. I like mp99 because the color. ) welcome any recommend! thanks!
tell us your preference for a racket? or, what kind of player are you? what do you play mostly? that will give us a better idea of what you are and which is a better racket ns7k and mp99 are quite different(not in an extreme way though, ns7k and at700 might be an example for extreme difference)
mp 99 if i'm u, i would definitely pick mp 99!!!!! 1. nano 7000 is more $$$$$ than mp 99 2. mp 99 is more durable 3. mp 99 is more power than ns 7k i've also tried a nano 7k and it really sucks, don't noe y yonex even waste $$$ and time to make a piece of garbage. personally i think there's no difference between a ns 7k and a $30 racquet( except for the price ) so mp 99 al the way!!!!!!
Basically MP99 is a more well balanced and all round racket. If were to choose between NS7000 with MP99 , i would go for MP99.
my vote is for the the MP99.. it is a well rounded racquet that's useful in both singles and doubles.
Yep, agree. Excellent, concise analysis. The NS7000 is a great defense, net racket. Very fast. The only drawback is the smashing power. It may feel good and strong but it's not, relatively speaking.
Relatively speaking, exaclty. My smashes are quite strong with the NS, but then again, I'm yet to use the MP99.
Assuming you get used to the MP99, it'll definitely be stronger. I've done many informal tests with the NS7000. Two real good ones are my coach and friend. Both smash hard regardless of the racket... ...when I train with my coach he used to use an MP99 and I would stand one to two steps behind the service line to return his smashes. Then he switched to the NS7000 because it "felt" better and he thought he smashed harder. Well, I would stand one or two steps up because his smashes were actually slower. I experimented with this 4-5 times. Same results. My coach even said I was improving, that he couldn't kill me with his smash anymore. I told him thanks but it's because his racket was not as good for smashing. He still doesn't believe me. ...friend is a B+ player and very athletic/fast. He went from the NS7000 to the SOTX Woven 8 and significantly increased his smashing power. He noticed it right away because he would win with his smash in fewer shots; whereas before, he had to set-up certain strong opponents with 5-6 smashes before he won the point, he could now do in half the smashes. Also many people commented he was hitting harder. When he went back to the NS7000 the next week, people noticed his smashes were not as hard. Of course, again, this is all relative to how the person plays, their technique and many other variables.
Thanks for that Dan, a friend of mine has a MP99 wich he's isn't using, think I'm gonna borrow it next time I see him
Why is there an extreme difference betweenthe ns7k and at700? Not saying you are wrong, but I have never tried those rackets before.
It is just naming convention. YY can name the nect model YYY0.1 if they want. Althought I would not knwo what that mean either.
EDIT: Whoops, thought you were talking to me Cooler. My friend is using the Woven 8 exclusively. Another friend, also a B+ player went from his beloved MP88 to the Woven 8 and is hitting harder too. But again, these two guys are advanced players with very strong wrists and the stiffer frame benefits them. I had a beginner try the Woven 8 and she could not clear 3/4 of the court. I then let her try a Kason Lepton F1 and she could almost do a full clear. So it just depends on the person.
Relatively speaking, the two rackets are on the opposite spectrums: NS7000: headlight balance, very fast movement, excellent defense, medium weight 3U (in the U.S.) but swings closer to a 4U. A defensive double players' dream racket. AT700: extremely head heavy balance, great for attacking, light weight (4U in the U.S.) but swings closer to heavy 3U. Ideal for singles play and attackers.
As a beginner i think you should stick with the MP99. The Nano 7000 is too fragile, you'll easily break it Heres some tip which should help you : 1) The price of a MP99 and Nano 7000 are about the same ~ 180 - 200 AUS 2) The speed of a smash depends more on the shuttle not the racket. 3) Nano 7000 is lighter so allows for faster swing, giving a better smash angle 4) The MP99 shaft is much more stiff then the Nano 7000, personally as an attacking player i hate the extra-stiff shaft. 5) Nano 7000 is new technology, MP99 is yesterdays racket 6) The colour scheme of the Nano 7000 is very feminine 7) The Nano 7000 head is hollow, so its light but it breaks very easily, very very easily My choice is the Nano 7000, but since you're a newbie to badminton i suggest u stick with the MP99
