Sorry, don't really like Howard. Seems like his meat was majorly cuz partner with Tony. Otherwise, still being famous only in .. LA. sorry for the fan of him If you've seen his 'jump clear' in WC2005, u might would agree 2 :crying:
Being the master of Chinglish that I am after teaching English in China, I'll provide a translation: I don't really like Howard. He won the WC title only because his partner was Tony. If not for that, he'd only be famous in LA (or maybe he's still only famous in LA... I'm not sure what was meant either). I feel bad for his fans (I think because the author doesn't think he's any good). If you watch his smashes closely, you might agree with me that he's not any good. I think the "jump clear" refers to Howard's smashes, since they do tend to go a little flat.

many ppl believe howard won the world title becoz of tony ..still ..howard is the world champ...it is not that easy to be world champ
Tony and Howard No doubt Tony is the great player and had a lot to do with the success in World Championship, however, we should not disregard the ability of Howard Bach or the contributions he had given just like many former partners of Tony, namely Rudy Gunawan, Halim Haryanto, Chandra Wijaya, ... towards Tony's success. These are all very very good players and doubles need two very good players to win, not one.
Hello all, thx for a the sharing. Whow, it's been a long time since my last visit of this web. I think i have to make it more straight b4 i left=): I posted a bit opinion of mine in the mid night last time, a little rush and didn't really make sense(when i read it back by myself.) sorry for the fan of howard if my word makes you angry. I truly understand your feeling as myself is a super baddy fan and has my own 'idol'. But i do agree with you guys that to be a Champion of WC isn't easy and it's definitely not just an accident. It takes years of hard working and much more efforts and contribution, especially in a country where badminton is still 'unknown' for most ppl. Therefore, one has to invest even more in such an environment than those who got fully support for the sports, like in Asian countries. I was in Anaheim last summer, and "I still remember what he did last summer^^!" What impressed me most was what Howard said to the Journalist after their final. I couldnt' remember what exactly he said, but his PASSION for badminton and really wants to do more to develop the sports in the US were really cool, and i'm sure that impressed you too, as we all love the sports in a country where badminton well developed yet. So i do appreciate Howard / Tony's success, as a badminton fan in the US. However, like you guys mentioned before, it seems like whoever partners with Tony, always can make great achievement. Would it prove that Tony is definitely a very talented partner for double games. And obviously Howardn and Tony are a good match as well + Howard's hard working => WC Champion. Sometimes two good players can play very well seperately, but may not work well when putting together. But it doesn't mean that he/ she is not good player. That's why Chinese team always switch their ppl around to find out the best partner for each other in doubles. So, i hope GardenGroveBadm just calm yourself damn down. I completely understand your feeling, and fully share your pain if someone points out bad thing of my favoriate player. And i think Howard would be happy to read all this through cuz he would find out how popular he is , and how much suppor he has from here. If you think 'ask me to shut my mouth up' would make the rest of the world agree with you "Howard is the best", which i don't really think so. Also, i am not saying "howard sucks", which isn't truly what i mean. Basically, he is not my best type of baddy player, but i appreciate his effort and hard working spirit towards the sports.
