yay! finally Lu Lan won as World Champion. i hope she will continue to excel and not let her fate turn out to be that of Zhu Lin's. now she can erase the bad memory of that Olympics bronze medal match last year...

Having watched the match live, I think Lu Lan was a well-deserved gold medal winner of WS.

I was quite amazed by her big improvements. She seemed to have evolved a much more aggressive player, with stronger smash and deceptive crosscourts (reminds me of Zhang Ning's style). But she should cut down on the many errors at the net , then maybe she could become the true leading WS player in the China team after XXF's retirement.

Keep up the good work Lu Lan ..............and try to beat Zhou Mi for the 1st time!!!

Yeah, Lu Lan had prepared so well for this WC with all straight sets win against heavy-weight opponent such as Wang Chen, Tine Rasmussen and her compatriots Wang Lin, Xie Xingfang. Congratz!

yeah and she seems so confident and aggressive now. celebrating each point all the time. so unlike her. i hope she continues to have the same confidence and win more titles. would you believe the last tournament she won was the Denmark Open in 2007? she was runner-up several times, 2008 Korea Open, 2008 All England and of course that infamous Olympic bronze medal match. so glad for her!

I hope their mini competition fire will continue to burn and they'll be hungry for more titles. After all, they are the future torchbearers for CHN WS squad (along with JYJ, WSX etc.) I, personally, thought LL really took her OG Semifinal Rd. lost to Maria K.Y. quite seriously. She must've committed herself to redeem that lost during this past 1 yr. Good for her & keep it up!!

after that loss, i think she has defeated MKY twice already. she has also defeated Wang Yihan in Swiss Open

Ahem..... she was defeated by Wang Yihan in Swiss Open. But not she defeated Wang Yihan. Wang Yihan eventually turned out to be the winner of Swiss Open.
