whoa, I've never seen those, they look like a cross breed of SHB-99 and SHB-52....they look pretty nice, except they are too high up...if they were low cuts they would look nicer:p

The one on top looks really nice and the other colors do not look too appealing. I'll stick with my 571ex. :p

The question should be: is Yonex coming out with an LE version? If so, I'll buy. :p

Why an LE edition? As far as I can tell, outside of Japan, the 99LE only meant some ugly new Nike-style colours. Was the red and white 99 that first came out not exactly the same size and shape as the LE in your market? The Japan lines seem to be all basketball-shoe height and so they really needed the ugly new 99s just to give them a shot at a normal badminton shoe height. The other exception seems to be their 89. Look at the difference between their 98 and the one we have in Korea. That new 79 looks like it has good stability. The 896 has the orange going for it but doesn't look quite as well put together. They are both way too high, though. If they release them outside of Japan, if the 98/99 experience is any indication, we'll likely get lucky and get lower-cut versions. In the past, however, I've seen a lot of models on the Japanese website that I've never seen for sale here and that I've never seen on pros.

Why do I keep jumping to conclusions when I read your posts? With Mansour and myself focussing on the height, I forgot that many people raved about the colours of the 99LEs when they came out and I didn't even consider the possibility that Yonex might release a second version of those SHB79WMDs that might look like a Nike basketball shoe.

I still prefer the 78s. The new 79s are looking kind of weird to me

I agree a bit. I think it's because of the holes on the 79 highs as well as those streaks on the low tops. I can't quite put my finger on it exactly but I guess we'll see soon enough in person.

I still think the 99LE is the ultimate Badminton Shoe in terms of looks and performance so far. :D

i think the 99LE has a bit of improvement over hte 99.

the 98 feels good but i dont dig its bland color of white, grey and black.

Some vibrant colors is nice but 99LE is a bit 'too colorful'
