Hi, I'm kinda new here, and was wondering what kind of advice for training I could get for myself. I am currently 14 years old, male and play at an intermediate level. I have participated in many tournaments and can do most things such as smashing, footwork, drops, backhand and stuff like that. I'm wondering what I can do at home, maybe drills that can improve my game and my fitness. Thanks for your comments!

    Drills

If you want to practise at home on your own, then footwork drills are probably the best things you can do. Somthing like the four corners routine.

    Training at home (my view)

    Hey,

I can't remember who told me this excercise that anybody can do at home.

    All you need is a small area ( 4 feet x 4 feet )

    What you do is:

Get in the middle of this small square, and move your feet in very fast, rapid, baby steps, doing minature footwork to all 4 corners of the square. Do this AS FAST AS POSSIBLE). Incorporate armswing, and your heartrate will go through the roof! Try to move off your base as quickly as possible.

The purpose of this exercise is to promote fast movement off of the base. In badminton this is very important. Especially in singles.
