At the recent Cheers Youth International (Singapore) I watched the semi-finals and noticed how the predominant the short service was in singles matches. In fact in one U-15 boys semifinal match, I would say that the short serve was used by both players 40-50% of the time. For say girls U-13 semifinals, i would say short serve was used less often but certainly in use...maybe up to 20% of the time.

Just an observation... maybe my percentages are wrong (just a very rough estimate) Comments?

I prefer low serves myself too so I can keep the attack.

same here. high services will allow the opponent to hav more options in shots wherelse for low services u usually get a clear or a net and it's easier to anticipate the return. if it comes back as a clear, u get an advantage in attack. if it comes back as a net, u r already standing at the front half of the court and can thus return the net more easily-- if u r fast enuff, a half clear sort of push to the base will be quite difficult for ur opponent to return. :p
