Has anybody experienced this? Today feels just like any other day of the year. I'm usually happy on Christmas. This hasn't happened to me now for three years. What do you guys think is the problem? I can't take this! I wan't to once again feel that joy that I once had every Christmas. :(

Be with your family and friends and thank The Lord for His sacrifice. Read the Bible, sing hymns...

...best wishes to you and your family! Happy Holidays and amen! :D

Christmas spirit? What christmas spirit? We're all too busy bashing the IBF to wish each other a good christmas.

Anyways. Happy Christmas all!! Drive safely. Don't drink and drive!! And don't smoke!!!

"Bash" is too strong a word. I for one am not bashing the IBF. I'm simply stating my disappointment with them for presenting this new scoring system. :p

Again, as...someone said, don't fix the game, fix the way the game is being marketed (or therelackof). :)

I guess some members just doesn't make the difference between bashing and being disappointed with the new system :p

Between, it's not Christmas yet! I didn't even finish buying all my gifts

Maligayang pasko at Manigong bagong taon Keith! :D

Philippines is one of the most joyous places to be for Christmas. I really get homesick around this time, but being with family and remembering the true meaning of the day keeps the Christmas spirit alive.

Hey thanks guys :). I've got 5 hours left till Christmas. I'm now experiencing a little "inner joy". Oh well, a little is better than none! Does anyone know how does mild depression feel like? I'm not sure if this is the case.

Well for me, I take my words more carefully. Bash and disappointed are too completely different words.

Right now I'm only disappointed. I'll start bashing if the IBF enforces the new rules from now until kingdom come. :p ;) :D

Yea, yea everyone hates the word bash. Jeez. My we're so cultured aren't we. Expressing disappointment? Meh.

Cbf really caring bout the IBF during Christmas. They can enjoy their coal filled socks. Although I wouldn't mine some. I could use with the heating. Perth's been pretty cold at nights, and it's supposed to be summer.

Yep, badminton does make you (and me) more happy, but that Christmas feeling is different. It's another kind of joy, it feels different. I can't explain it though, or am I just being too idealistic?

If you're talking about Santa, the festivities, deck the halls, the tree, the presents, the snow; then it's no wonder feeling it is kinda hard nowadays. It's been over-commercialised that it became just an event when people exchange gifts and decorate a huge tree with lights and metallic balls.

The spirit of Xmas comes from the decorating of the tree together, sharing a good chrimbo dinner at the table with all loved ones or sipping koko near the fireplace, singing christmas carols.

Else, take joy as the angels pronounced His birth to the shepherds while Three Wise Men came from the East to offer gifts and worship Him. He was born in a stable, with sheep and other livestock as companion - what is so exciting about that?

Yet, great joy it was for those who knew; for here comes a Gift greater in worth than anything the world could give.

If that is not reason enough to be joyful, I guess... :(

Well, I'm celebrating Xmas alone here in KL with friends all back at their hometowns and with their own families, but I feel the inner joy that cannot be described about His birth.

If I were capable of going back in time to the day when the angels sang His name, I'd go there and worship Him on my knees and it will be the greatest christmas I would ever have.

There I go, getting all sentimental again. ;)

Wilfred's post is good. But we need to remember, Christmas should be about and focused oncelebrating Christ's birth. It's shouldn't be about us, it should be about Him. :)

But of course should, would, could, and did are four very different things. :p

Well, the underlying importance in Christmas as it was back then and now is the element of 'family' in there. At the stable the Infant Jesus was with His mother and foster father, as well as some shepherds and livestock, visited by three astrologers from the East with gifts and reverence.

"I'll be home for Christmas", as the song goes is one example of that. There's nothing I would love better than to fly home and spend the weekend with my folks, but then again they're still family regardless of the distance.

Even if you don't have a family to go home to still covers the same old principle - your immediate neighbours and friends are your families, not to mention you're and have always been a part of the Holy Family.

Christmas, had mostly been how people celebrate His birth - made the most popular by Europeans and then the media to the world. St Nicholas did it by giving gifts to children. ;)

But of course, I'd love to meet some Santarinas, yessiree! :)
