Possible future U.S. Open venue??..
..with the proposed seating capacity of nearly 3,000 spectators, i wonder if the new LABC could possibly be one of the venue options to host future U.S. Open tourneys??...
..on that note, can't wait to see the finish facility..

I agreed with Don. We definitely needs a private Badminton Club in West Los Angeles.

Looks like it's on schedule..
..i passed by the area the other day and looks like the construction is on schedule (at least from the exterior). The building is up & is really high/massive, almost as tall as the SGVBC building/facility...

The last time i saw the bldg..
..from the outside, it looked 90% done. However, from what i heard from another person w/inside knowledge to the project, the inside is not done yet. Meaning, they haven't put the flooring. Thus, they are projecting next yr. for the Grand Opening.
But i also heard, abt 2-3 months ago, from another person who actually is involved in the project, they're supposed to be done and ready to roll out the red carpet by end of this yr (less than 3 months)....will they??..
So, yes, to echo shreky's post : it is opening soon! How soon? that we don't know..
I'll try to snap a few exterior pics when i get a chance to swing by the area...

Here are a couple of pics of the new LABC..
..okay, as promised for those of you waiting to see how the new facility looks like, here they are. Just the exterior shots.
I tried to sneak in through the blue construction barrier to take more detailed pics, but wasn't able to manage. Sorry, I was afraid there are probably security cameras placed inside the property and they might have caught me....so, decided to stay & take the pics from afar...
The front portion of the facility (street view) will be used for commercial usage (shops/retail and maybe restaurant). Entrance to club is most likely from the side (not street view).
As for when it'll open? Looks like next yr is the more realistic date for the Grand Opening (how many yrs they've delayed it??)..Last edited by ctjcad; 10-26-2009 at 02:05 PM.
