Hi players, I would like to for help. I heve been playing for quite a long time at recreational (can play longs, crosses, drop shots somehow) level. At the moment I play with Wilson (guess it is Ti-100) and is about 5-7 years old. Just change strings occasionally. But now I am going to train at least twice a week and want to buy new rackets. I play allaround and I am not a smasher. Please, could you recommend me one around $80? My favorites are as in the title. Thanks for answers. Jin
I know the MP30 quite good, some players in my club use this racket. My own racket is a MP25. This is an allround racket, and the MP30 is a more offensive racket. It is medium flexible and even balanced. Kind regards, Stijn
If i were to choose from these range of rackets I would go for MP-25 just bought it for fun all-rounded where AT-300 is kinda stiff, if it is for recresational use and its kinda costy as well
Thanks for your advice. Now both rackets are in action for $68 (MP30 '06) and $80 (AT-300). MP-25 is for $72. So which one? My favorite now is MP-30 '06. Bye
How is MP 30 - 2006 different from the earlier MP 30? I guess it is the same racket technically. Given that, I wud reccomend AT 300 since it uses better technology that MP 30. If you string MP 30 right, it will give you good power.
Hi iMakk, yes, the racket is technically same with different color design. That's what the dealer says. And I have chosen MP 30 as it would suit my game better. I am not an aggresive player as my wife (I enjoy the game however I loose). And from the characteristics I understand that AT 300 is rather for smashers and MP 30 for allcourt players. Am I right? Thanks.
Yes, that's correct. But with the proper technique, you can smash quite hard also with an MP30, however, the AT300 is more offensive.
Thanks Stijn. I am going to play on Saturday. I cannot wait for that.:crying: And what grip do you use? Normal smooth overgrip or so called here "Towel" (cloth)? Ta
I use a synthetic overgrip (Yonex SuperGrap). Towel grips can absorb more sweat, but you'll need to replace them sooner. Kind regards, Stijn
Thanks Stijn. I will take a look. And as you are helpful: is good (when I take it seriously) to have 2 same rackets or is better to have the other a bit different? I play singles mainly. Regards, J
When you like the racket very much, you can buy the same racket. When you want to switch from playing style , it's better to buy a different one.
I see. I think I had better practice now and then I will make the decision. But thanks for your super help. Wish you good games.
No, why do you think that? The MP29 light was added to the MP series, but it isn't going to replace the MP30...
