    MEN'S SINGLES
Lin Dan vs Xia Xuanze (Xia already book his place in China Thomas squad even if he lost to LD)
    Lu Yi vs Chen Hong
Chen Jin vs Lee Hyun Il (Time for Chen Jin to prove that he earn LYB trust who send him almost of all important events last year and this year)
    Simon Santoso vs Kaspar Oedum

    MEN'S DOUBLES QUARTER FINAL
From 5 Korean MD pairs, the most promising ones are Jung/ Lee.
Hwang Ji Man/Han Sang Hoonvs Anthony Clark/Robert Blair
Robert Adcock/Robin Middleton vs Liu Kwok Wa/Albertus Susanto Njoto
Tadashi Ohtsuka/Keita Masuda advances to the semi-final --> WO against Michael Logosz/Robert Mateusiak
Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong DaevsFu Haifeng/Cai Yun (MATCH OF THE ROUND)

    WOMEN'S SINGLES
From 5 China players, only Jiang Yian Jiao lost in second round by her own team mate, Wang Lin. With this result, the Uber Cup is 100% in China hand. No other Uber team third singles can beat China third singles now even without Zhou Mi as their third singles.

The most uprising from Chinese young players is Wang Lin. She only enter 4-5 events last year, and she managed to reach 2 QF in a row this year beating Top 10 player.
Zhang Ning vs Lee Yun Hwa
    Pi Hongyan vs Zhu Lin
Wang Lin vs Wang Chen (MATCH OF THE ROUND)
    Lu Lan vs Xie Xingfang

    WOMEN’S DOUBLES
    Gao Ling/Huang Sui vs Chien Yu-Chin/Cheng Wen-Hsing
Ha Jung Eun/Hwang Yu Mi vs Zhang Dan/Zhao Tingting
Du Jing/Yu Yang vs Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen (Probably a suprise here. Beside from Gao/Huang, the other pairs thatcan beat Yang/Zhang last year are Du/Yu in China Open.)
Zhang Yawen/Wei Yili vs Lee Hyo Jung/Lee Kyung Won (MATCH OF THE ROUND) Another test for ZYW/WYL if they wanted to be pick as China Uber Team third doubles.

    MIXED DOUBLES
Lee Jae Jin/Lee Hyo Jung vs Guo Zhendong/Yu Yang
Xie Zhongbo/Zhang Yawen vs Robert Blair/Natalie Munt (MATCH OF THE ROUND)
    David Lindley/Suzanne Rayappan vs Daniel Shirley/Sara Runesten-Petersen
Anggun Nugroho/Yunita Tetty vs Zhang Jun/Gao Ling

 Are you sure??? Simon even couldn't beat Lee Hyun-ill in the Swiss Open last week, so how come if he could beat the first ranking of the world?

Maybe your semifinal prediction is still realistic, but well, for Final, if LD vs Simon, I am sure that LD will still win.:D ...Simon is lacking of consistency I think. He should get more experience

Hey, didn't you make a similar prediction for the Swiss Open? ;)

Well anyway, it would be nice to see Simon succeeding at last, as he is still far from having confirmed the high potential he was showing a few years ago...

With the withdrawal of Bao, at least this will boost Simon's mental strength. Simon in the past once defeated top players unexpectedly. It is true that Simon lacks experience. Technically speaking, he is on par with other top players. His mental strength needs to be improved. Being able to reach the big 8 in the tournament in which top players participate will at least give him an extra motivation to achieve further.

It is true Lin Dan is 2 levels above SImon...yet if Simon can reach the final, LD should be very very careful....

I think it can be. Lin Dan target is All England title. So maybe Lin will save his performance in german. Simon have a good playing technic. He just need good mental to face the world number 1.

I still bet for Lin Dan to win the title. As for Simon, I am happy that he can reach QF (some more beating 2 higher ranking players) and the very reasonable target for him to enter SF, if he can go to Final that is bonus. By sending him more regular to the big tournaments will make him stronger mentally and have higher chance to become top player in the world :)

You are serious aren't you? You are not making silly and ridiculous comments for fun. I think you will be proven wrong once again and your badminton credibility will be destroyed forever. However if you are right this time then maybe we should take more notice of your crazy predictions. After all you predicted Simon to win the Swiss Open and he got thrashed!:D

Why don't you leave him alone?
Everyone is free to make the predictions he wants.
Everyone is free to support the players he likes.

There's nothing "silly and ridiculous" to that. You can disagree (I don't think Simon will win either tbh) but this doesn't stop you from respecting other's opinions.

I am all for free speech and respecting other people's right to express their opinion but with free speech there are consequences. Everyone is also free to criticise other people's opinions especially when these opinions are absurd and the person expressing the opinion claims that he/she is objective. There is nothing disrepectful in my polite criticism of this individual. This dispute has a history from a long debate which I doubt you followed. The person actually claimed that his opinions are objective and credible when he argued that Taufik is the greatest badminton player in history and Taufik is greater than Rudy Hartono. So back off buddy you don't know what you are getting into! Everyone is free to express their opinions and that includes me criticising people who claim to be objective when in fact they are extremely subjective bordering silly.:p

    Enough!

OK, Sabathiel (and Indra for that matter), I can see where this is going. Please be more respectful to others. The "Taufik AE" thread was more than enough.

Disagreeing is one thing, calling somebody "ridiculous" and "crazy" is another thing.

Consider this as a last warning.

Hey... am I the only one for Chen Hong on this one?

He has very high chance of defeating Lu Yi and he has been playing very well lately vs LD :p
