Hi, I recently received a nanospeed 7000 from Hong Kong, I've been using it for a few days and I find it weird, first off it's missing the second string from the bottom, which is the way I got two of my racquets, is that normal or special? And also when my uncle bought the racquet it said it came with free strings, would anyone happen to know what kind of strings they are and if they are any good? I have a hunch they may be BG66 says like BG66 blah blah I can't really read it..., but I can't say for sure. Any replies would be greatful, thanks!

The text on the string should be readable, if not, call the store for info. Many people tend to skip the second last string now days, it is just another method of stringing and don't worry about it.

It might also takes sometimes before you can adapt a racket, so it is normal to feel weird at the beginning, however, make sure it is a genuine racket. Which you can post your serial number on this fourm and haves someone to idenifity it for you. ;)

Shops generally use the thicker BG65's at lower tensions to avoid their customers breaking the strings too quickly and demand a free restring. As you are a foreign customers and unlikely to ask for a free restring if broken, the shop may well give you the thinner BG66 if it's cheaper for them to do so.

The gap in the string was supposed to make the string bed more bouncy and the racket more powerful. I string for myself and I now leave out all 3 bottom strings. As I never hit the shuttle in that area of the racket, I am pretty sure string gaps in that area have little or no detrimental effect.

Yes, I have the same experience with 2 new racquets.
The NS7000 & NS8000 were done that way back in Dec 2005. I know the racquets were bought from one of those Fa Yuen St. shops in HK.
Weird stringing pattern, no idea why they do it this way..
However, it did not bother the respective owners re: its performance.

If it says BG66 blah blah, there is a good chance that the string is not BG66; Is it written titatium, then the strings might be BG65Ti or BG68Ti.....

Strings are missing all over on my main racket, and I don't notice my play being affected in a bad way.

No. I have a proper string cutter. Thanks.

The pattern serves my purpose well, and all 6 of my rackets are strung that way. If you move back from your screen and look at it. The square of the playing surface can appear quite elegant, at least to me.

Which is..?? ..to save strings?? ...as you break them so often with your extreme tension of 16lbs.. sorry for the pun.. couldn't resist.. ;)

Or is it to maximize the distribution of forces to the super-repulsiveness of the Ti-10 head? ;) ;)

Let's not bring it all up again. If you don't try you don't know.

Suffice to say areas of the racket I don't use, I don't need string :). Athough I belive the sweet spot is altered.

Seems such string pattern is very popular in Asia, as my friends from tw and indonesia all came back with such patterned rackets.

you've only left out 2 crosses from Yonex's pattern. You have 20 and Yonex usually have 22 (apart from the exceptions)
