    MEN'S SINGLES
Lin Dan vs Chen Hong (Lin probably win in 3 sets or two tight sets)
Chen Jin vs Kaspar Oedum ( Chen had a very big chance to reach his first IBF final.)
Will Simon be punished by PBSI cause he failed to made it to SF?

    MEN'S DOUBLES QUARTER FINAL

Anthony Clark/Robert Blair vs Liu Kwok Wa/Albertus Susanto Njoto
Tadashi Ohtsuka/Keita Masuda VS Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae(MATCH OF THE ROUND) Korea had a new hope in this pair.

    WOMEN'S SINGLES
    Zhang Ning vs Zhu Lin
Wang Chen VS Lu Lan (MATCH OF THE ROUND) Can Lu Lan made another giant killer after beating Xu Huai Wen and XXF?

    WOMEN’S DOUBLES
After China WYL/ZTT and ZD/ZYW switch each other into new pairs, they successfully won again Lee/Lee from Korea which they never did before. Look like this new formation work.

Gao Ling/Huang Sui vs Zhang Dan/Zhao Tingting
Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen VS Zhang Yawen/Wei Yili

    MIXED DOUBLES
Lee Jae Jin/Lee Hyo Jung vs Xie Zhongbo/Zhang Yawen (MATCH OF THE ROUND)
    Daniel Shirley/Sara Runesten-Petersenvs Zhang Jun/Gao Ling
So far ZJ/ GL had a very nice draw through SF.

    Fully agreed with the predictions.

A pity that Anggun/Yunita lost tamely to Zhang/Gao.

it shows they are not at chinese pair class yet, maybe only nova/butet can challenge them.

the only field without chinese affair is MD, the rest chinese will take them all.

surprise that Fu/Cai lost to the Korean pair, now hope they can go all the way to take the title.

    champion

I'll bet on Lindan. Chen Hong seems to do well in AE. Maybe he'll focus on that.

I think the most exciting match to watch is

    Xie Zhongbo/Zhang Yawen vs Lee Jae-jin/Lee Hyo-jung

Xie/Zhang has won twice against Lee/Lee, both in a very tight rubber set (the last one is in HK Open). Let's hope Zhang yawen can win again to Lee Hyo-jung just like she did in QF of WD yesterday (in a very tight game). Btw anyone has this match????

And there is any picture of German Open 2006??

    Sorry!

Actually, I have been there for a while, but I was too busy to take any pictures of the players.
So I promise to all our BC members to make shots today.

By the way, I was introduced to Xia Xuanze and Lin Dan. Further I had to manage my club's players taking part in the tournament (Wu Yun Yong, Ingo Kindervater (MD, defeated Sang/(Zheng?), Birgit Overzier etc.)

Xia is a really nice person. He told me yesterday shortly before his match against Lin Dan that he is in very good shape and confident. Unfortunately, Lin Dan knows how to play against him.

Xia will come after the Thomas Cup to Germany if his club team will free him.

The most sad thing for all badminton fans is that Bao Chunlai is injured. So he can't play further and of course, all England is over for him now. Kasper Oedum reached the semi finals after he won once again against Simon Santoso who gave up because of injury. A Lucky Guy!

But Chen Jin is my favourite now!
The MS match Lee Hyunil against Chen Jin was definitely the match of the day. I'm eager to see the finals match between Chen Jin and Lin Dan.

    From Germany!

I am also rooting for Chen Jin !! Hope to see 2 Chens in the finals .. hee hee :D

Maybe the Kiwis will pull an upset, but the odds are pretty high against them...
at the moment, Robert Blair and Anthony Clark look pretty good for the title. If they beat Njoto/Liu, they will face either Lee Yong Dae/Jung Jae Sung or Keita Matsuda/Tadashi Ohtsuka in the final

With so many 3 setters so far, I wonder if she will finally run out of gas against ZN. Regardless, she is just ANOTHER in the line of upcoming Chinese WS players to shine in international competition. She 's surely thrown her hat into the ring for the 3rd WS spot for the China Uber Cup Team. The Chinese are so stacked in WS it's SICK. They could easily put out two contending Uber Cup teams.

Hopefully Lu Lan will put up a good effort against ZN in the final.
