    hello,
I do not mean to sound rude or ignorant, but I have a question: what are the type of shots that can be taken? I need more than just the name, I need a description of the shot. I have been looking on the net, and all that i am finding are team sites nothing really about the game. If you could help me out, I would forever be in your debt. Thanks in advance!!

    Theres the

    Clear

    - from high to high

    Smash
    - offensive shot
    - from high to low
    - most powerful shot in badmin

    Drop
    - offensive shot
    - from high to low
    - will target the area just right after the net

    Lift
    - defensive shot
    - from low to high
    - usually used for drop/smash returns

    NetShot
    - returning a drop or a netshot with another net shot
    - very light shot

    Drive

    - used as a shot return that is too low to smash

errr... you can take any shot! and i mean ANY shot...
it all depends on whether you want to try to move towards the shuttle to take it or just let it go as you feel that it is going to be an out...

i dun really understand your question actually...

    Hi from Belgium.
I'm also in the same quest. I've found a site in french which propose a description of technics (http://www.cegep-st-laurent.qc.ca/depar/educ/tactiquesbad.PDF). The drawings are explicit. Otherwise there is sites in English for you : http://www.anitavandijk.nl/badminton/index.html - www.badmintoncentral.com/badminton-central/ - http://www.usabadminton.org/. I think you can find a lot of sites..

Good luck in your search and have a nice bad..minton.
