Hello every1, got back from my first All England and it totally blew me away. While i was there i picked up the Yonex Brochure which featured new shoes. Check it out....
For those looking for Shb-98 alternatives as they are discontinued nearly everywhere; my friend has got 2 shb-70's and he says they are very similar in weight, grip, cushion, and shape. The only slight difference is the front of the shoes, but doesn't affect play much. Also they are cheaper too. Shb-89 looks set to be discontinued in uk and the Shb-90 is taking over.
i quite like the look of the shb90mx but i wish they had brought out new top of the range shoes . could you possibly post the clothes page of the brochure and also the racket page. thanks
Here is a thread that already has the Brochure pics, enjoy http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29702 Anyone who may have tried the new shoes or know more, please feel free to comment as i would like to know your opinions. Also i just tried the Yonex Socks! OMG the 'rubber dots' at the bottom stick to the sole to prevent slipping!; so anyone with comments on new Yonex gear please comment.
i have a fair few pairs of the yonex socks and i find them very comfortable but the grips on the bottom are quite annoying, they get stuck when trying to put a tracksuit on
the uppers on the LE's might be durable but i don't find the the rest of them durable., especially the toe area
I have only heard good things about Yonex shoes and have liked all those that I've tried on except for the old SHB-98s. Most people I know who have the standard 99s are still using them almost a year on... great durability. As for the uppers on the new ones I agree they dont look too durable but then again thats not the place where they wear out for me
do you find they wear out in the toe area? and the inside of the left foot or inside of the right foot for left handers?
Yes. THats whare you bend them most often. but that kind of damage is superficial more than anything else
it's more of a problem when you start getting holes in the insole because then you have to cough up for new insoles
