I always enjoyed watching LHI but I didn't get to see much of his powerful smash in the SF... wish he played the way he did while catching up 2nd set

I always enjoy watching LHI play. His movement is so graceful and appears effortless. He retired 3 times and came back 3 times to single ranking and in the process he has beaten Chen Long and Chen Jin. However, he has yet to beat LD and LCW in the 3rd comeback and hopefully it wouldn't be too long unless he calls it quits after the 2012 OG. Hopefully he performs well in the 2012 Swiss Open MSF on 18/3/2012 and claims yet another title.

I always love lee hyun il's strokes and footwork movement. He has an exceptional attack and defense even lee chong wei and chen long are not able defend his jump smashes.
Yes he has really shown a lot improvement since coming back from retirement. I hope the best for him in the swiss open final

LHI lost in 3 games to CJ in the MSF match of the 2012 Swiss Badminton Open Tournament. He did well in the 1st game winning 21-14 but lost concentration in the 2nd game losing 9-21. The rubber game was touch and go until the later stage when LHI made some mistakes to lose 17-21.

I agree with all of you. He's my favourite player because his movement and shots are so natural. You can't tell if he's tired you know?

when i was transiting in Hong Kong Airport on Monday, I bumped into LHI. only manage to take some stalker photos as i was in a hurry to catch my flight also.
he must be on his way back from India Open. however, his teammates are not with him.
i notice he uses right hand to eat.

Many Thanks to LHI
Just a quick note to thank LHI.
His preformance @this years olympic games made the event special.
he breezed through his qualifying pool and took out JOJ on his way to the match against Chen Jin.
In the past chen Jin has had the upper hand, but not this time. Lee Hyun Il dominated the match.
His wrist power on the punch smash was incredible and a joy to watch.
The game against LD he was understandably tired.
He should have taken the Bronze against Chen Long outplaying him forcing Chen into a retrival game such was LHI shot accuracy.
The cross court forhand net followed by backhand cross court net was my fave shot of the tournament.
So juts so he is not fogotten, LCW is probably feeling abd today but imagine how LHI is feeling missing out on bronze twice must hurt.
Thanks LHI it is a privilidge to watch you play the game, you and Gade are the master tacticians.

Agree. LHI is a great player that is always neglected by the badminton fans. He has a very unique play style, and technical. His legs are certainly one of the strongest amongst the pro. I only wished he could be more consistent and get into form quicker during match.
LHI is arguably the best MS Korea has produced so far, and finishing 4th two times in Olympic is a great achievement nonetheless.

LHI is to me simply the greatest comeback kid. How many can retire and come back still as good if not better than ever, hardly any and certainly not as impressive. His patient manoeuvring game coupled with sudden lethal counter-attacking shots and superb defence is marvellous to watch.
Just an analogy,if any WS can play like him will be world champion many times over. (Why not like LD or LCW? Because to expect the ladies to imitate their explosive attacking style is really pushing it, not that LHI is weaker in that sense,he can be as dynamic at times, just that his style is more suitable for ladies to emulate, if you get what I mean).
