Can anyone tell me what they mean with the Nanospeed 8000 racquets cracks (breaks) easily especially on miss hits? What racquet production dates are considered to be the first batch with this problem? Pictures for illustration is aprreciated. Thanks
cracks come from when there is a bad string job and it leaves a crack on your racket, a miss hit on the crack will implode your racket... and it then will become deformed and unusable...
There were rumors (or also facts) stated the 1st batch NS rackets seem to be extra fragile. Personally, almost all the early (1st 3-5 months since introductions) NS I saw, are already broken due to different reasons, mainly clashes or mis-hits. Heard the later batches are improved on durability. If you need to purchase, try to get the ones with later production dates.
Production Date? When was the NS8000 first produced? What are their serial number ranges if anyone can help? I found out about this problem/rumor after I ordered mine online last friday? :crying:
mine was produced march 2005, ive strung my racket to 26lbs. slowly breaking-in the racket to my desired tension of 28lbs. had (i think) 5 clashes hard ones at that, ive goten 2 big paint chips at the 9 and 10-o'clock position but its still good.
two days ago I misshit so a string snapped close to 11 clock... Due to the tension (29/31) the frame distorted and it broke at about 11 o clock (right above the snapped string)... didn't have time to cut the strings... an exepnsive misshit (no clash etc.. It was an early 3U GR model) I have yet to break any of my 2Us...
Don't remember, and I threw it in a wastebasket at the training center... It was purchased late April 2005.
Most breakage are due to un-proper usage (mis-hit or clash) or bad string job. If you can prevent (of course, no way 100%), then the risk could be greatly minimized. Also, the slim design of NS8k already makes its nature to be fragile.
One I bought was manufactured March 2005..I clashed a few times and dinked many times...no problem, so far, just a chip....(touch wood)... bchaiyow
So does it mean that extreme stringing practices is the major cause for racquet failure other than clashes?
well kinda, majority of racket failure is due to clashes and stringing practice+tension. but in the case of ns8000, the first batches were kinda weak and fragile. the new batches are ok.
Agree and this was unofficially confirmed to me by an inside source. I posted a more detailed response somewhere here on BC. The latest NSs are stronger and more crack resistant but still not great.
