    Hello BC-ers,

I recently ordered the Yonex SHB-99 MX shoes from e-bay. My normal shoe size is US 12. Now I am using an indoor court shoe made by Head (also size 12). I think the Head pair is smaller for my feet. I am heavily built (200 lbs) and after every session of badminton, my toes hurt a lot bcoz of the running and jumping. :(:( I read from BC reviews that the Yonex SHB-99 fits wide feet very well and they have ample toe room. I don't have a Yonex retailer nearby to try these shoes personally. So, could fellow BC'ers who are using that shoe, guide me in selecting my shoe size? Shud I go for size 12 or 13? Which would be more comfortable? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Please reply asap. Thanks in advance !

    Hi,
I do own a pair of SHB99. Usually i wear a US 9 in my badminton shoes, but as my retailer told me, the 99's are build a bit smaller i got a pair of them in US 10. Fits perfect.

So i'd advise you to get them one size bigger. Go for the 13 ;)

I think it depends. I normally wear Size: 13 in Nike and Asics Tiger but Size: 12.0 in SHB-99s fit just like the Size: 13 Nike/Asics. Go figure.

So all sizing may not be equal.

I have to agree here, after wearing SHB-98s and 99s.

If you really can't try before purchase, I would go a bit larger than smaller. If the shoes are a bit larger (of course, reasonable range) than u wanted, u can make it fit by wearing thicker socks or put an extra insole. If too small, there's nothing u can do, but return for exchange.

Therefore, I might go with 12.5 or 13, in ur case.

most places will let return shoes if you don't like them, if not then you will at least get an exchange.

True that. However, most ppl can never find the ideal shoes for themselves, there are always small adjustments u might need to make, to make it a bit more comfortable for uself.

Never to metion, it's harder to exchange for the "un common" sizes, as 12 -13, is kinda pushing for extreme already. ;)

Based on my experience, don't do it. Remember, I wear Size: 13 normally. In the 99s I wear a Size: 12.0. Go figure.

Lol... I don't have such large size feet, so, guess ur info is more accurate. Maybe say, stay with 12? Personally, I wear US8.5 all the time, even for SHB89,98 and 99.

Well, I guess the shoes are depend on many factors. Even the same model, different shippment might be different. I had an old thread talking about the difference between the earlier 99 and the later shipment. I tried the 99 when it 1st came out, and the US8.5 seems really tight, and i need quite a bit time to adjust to the feeling after the break in period. However, recently, I bought another 3 pairs (2 in TW, and 1 in US), all of them seems quite roomy for me, and I don't feel the tightness even though the shoes are brand new.

    So, go figure.

maybe the different places where they manufactured the shoes made them slightly different sizes:rolleyes:

That's why I think there's a shoe size inconsistency. Check this out:
