Lack of result, probably. Also, no new partner lined up following Flandy.

May be England'll snatch him up. Didn't he and Flandy represent England for a short time a few years back?

I found an article (in Indon) from www.bolanews.com about eng hian's retirement from Pelatnas

Eng Hian Keluar, Flandy Bertahan
Awal tahun lalu, Eng Hian menempati rumah baru disertai tekad ingin mengukir prestasi cemerlang. Sayang, kariernya sepanjang tahun 2005 meredup.

“Apa sih artinya saya? Hanya meraih medali perunggu Olimpiade,” ujarnya pelan.

Rencana Baru

“Kalau ditawari menjadi pelatih, saya belum ingin. Saya masih ingin main,” tegasnya.

Ya ... I've read this news in Malaysian newspaper. What a pity ..... Eng Hian is a good player. However, some player may not have good result sometimes. But PBSI should not fired him. He may have good result later then... or just like Malaysia Team, they still need the vateran for sparring with yougsters.
BTW, why Eng Hian has no Indon name? "Eng Hian" is his chinese name right?

 If I were Yap Kim Hock, I will take Eng Hian to Malaysia.

Here's the translation double! I hope it's good enough :)
Eng Hian Out, Flandy Staying
Early last year, Eng Hian moved to a new house with a resolution to make brilliant achievement. Unfortunately, his career during the year 2005 was not as bright. On Feb 1, Eng Hian then decided to quit Pelatnas Cipayung.

Even though he was late, Eng Hian went to Pelatanas Cipayung from his home in Legenda Wisata, Cibubur, Jakarta Timur, calmly. Eng Hian, often called Didi, went to his training place since 1995 without worrying that he would be admonished by Christian Hadinata and other coaches due to his lateness.

On Wednesday (1/2) Didi submitted a letter indicating his resignation.

"About me resigning, I have no problem. What I am disappointed in is the way (he was being made to resign)," said Didi grumpily.

Early in January, Didi and his partner Flandy Limpele was called to see Rudy Hartono, Lius Pongoh and Christian. According to Didi, he was faced with two choices, either being degraded or resigning.

PBSI's reason giving him the choices is that compared to Flandy, he was not achieving that much any more.

"Why wasn't I warned earlier? Why wasn't I told earlier?" said Muliyaningsih Baiin's husband.

He also admitted that it's been a while since he was not communicating that well with Flandy. He couldn't get a solution from Christian either. After Indonesia Open 2005, Didi has asked for alternatives from Christian, for example by getting a new partner since he really couldn't communicate with Flandy anymore.

However, there is no respond from the coach. Such a hanging and awkward condition makes Didi choose to resign.

"What am I? I only could get the Olympic bronze medal," he said slowly.

New Plan
Even though he had to resign from Cipayung with such a manner, Didi tried to see his future optimistically. He still didn't want to leave the badminton world.

"Now I am going back first to Djarum club, where I was from. If there is a nice offer from abroad, I would definitely take it. I have a goal to beat the Pelatnas members, just to prove that I am still able to do that," Didi said again.

It's heard that there is a nice offer from Germany, but there is still no confirmation. It's also rumoured that he has moved to Malaysia. "If I am offered to become a coach, I wouldn't accept it. I still want to play," he said.

Where would he be able to find a partner of his skill level in order to beat the players from Pelatnas? Maybe Malaysia?

Eng Hian is really really sharp in the forecourt... Any youngster who has the
chance to pair with him is definitely lucky. It is very important for Young players to have the chance to pair with gurus. They will improve much faster this way than just listening to the coaches. Just see what happened to Howard Bach after he paired up with Tony.

Yes, but I heard that Eng Hian always felt more welcome in the UK than Flandi did. Prior to their return to Indonesia, Flandi apparently let it be known publicly that he was a little miffed that they didn't name part of the country Flandiland after him, too.

Eng Hian = 永贤. his full name is 徐永贤. that's what I saw from the chinese website. judging from the spelling, he must be a Hokkien.
