Hi all, I just been hunting for feather shuttles and I came across the Yonex Aerosensa 30/40/50 but they have different speeds at 77, 78, 79. Ive never bought feather ones before, is 77 the slowest, 78 medium, 79 fast? What shuttles would you recommend that are cheap and decent?
(1) You get what you pay for - if you want decent quality shuttles, you get to pay more. (2) In the UK, you will use speed 78 (Yonex #4) during winter assuming your club is heated.
Sometimes you get more than you pay for. King KS-707s at $9.00-$9.50/tube have been great for me considering the price. I highly recommend you hydrate them or any shuttle for best durability.
I primarily use Mavis 350 because being in Iowa there is not too much badminton supply to buy. I usually do a group order to save shipping for everyone. Two weeks ago I order 50 tubes of Mavis 350 in order to get a good deal on the pricing.
im not familiar in the shuttle speed but what ive heard is dat jinque aa is what team china use in practice
I looked at Jinque before but Ive never heard of this make so didnt dare to try...hmm, for me in the UK, the price for RSL is nearly the same as Yonex ones. Hard decison..:crying:
I think RSL Tourney 1 has one of the best price/quality ratio's right now - at least in Europe. As I play at my university and with ppl from different levels of play, I'm used to play both feather and plastic shuttles. If I'm playing plastic, i use Yonex Mavis 500 shuttles, usually slow speed (green). For feather shuttles i usually go for RSL Tourney No 2 or 3, speed 77. Finetuning them by pinching the feathers if needed. Price is around 12-13 Euros (ask xe.com for conversion). You also get cheap shuttles at www.badmintonmaster.com but they are OEM shuttles and not sorted for speed. I'd recommend OEM 201A (best OEM shuttle there) and OEM 301 (cheaper, longer lasting, but duck feather). If you don't go through a large number of shuttles per week, you'll have to water or steam the shuttles if you stored them for a few weeks.
50 tubes of Mavis 350??? Unless ur guys are super smashers, I think this order itself will last for the next 5 yrs???
Hmm... I don't think so. If we are playing a fast game with hard smashes etc. we can kill off a M350 rather fast. And by kill off i mean wear it down to a point where you would get the next shuttle from the tube if playing feather... And you only need to hit one of them _really_ bad and the cork head will just pop off
I used it before but it was the wrong speed for the Norther Hermisphere. The quality is superb! JinQue AAA is used for China Open in Guangzhou.
AS-50 is the shuttle for me (It's cheaper than all other shuttles in TW in terms of Cost vs. Performance) If I buy shuttles in the US, I will probably consider Sealion or Aeroplane shuttles. They are both good and inexpensive.
Just got a tube of Sealion Birds at SGD $20. Was recommended to me by the shop as a low cost, yet durable shuttle
