yes its yonex BG-6 not BG-66.
i just strung my racquet with this BG-6 string, and was wondering if yonex ever produces this model.
according to the seller, he said its pretty good. its alittle cheaper than BG-66, but i strung it just to try it out. haven played with it yet, so i dont know its performance. any comments?:D

According to my regular stringer the only difference between BG-6 and BG-66 is that the former is made in China/Taiwan and the latter in Japan. The specifications are the same. Don't know how true is it? Since the price is the same i still prefer the latter.

BG-6 is made in Mainland China. The cost is a lot lower than BG-66. And both are 0.66 mm. I haven't tried it yet :).

I don't trust the stringers there and prefer to do the stringing myself :). RMB20 is very cheap. Labour is like next to nothing. Most of the charges is the string.

Ringgit in internatinal is called MYR. :)
i havent seen bg-6 around , i guess it is just like "developed by yones , made in taiwan". but i believe, it is the same , just that labour is chaper in mainland.
anyway , just try it out and see if it outlast bg66 which is said to last 1-2 weeks only.

    Does this have Vectran?

I just found this in mybadminton store. Is it a 0.66 with Vectran on (the fluorescent yellow colouring is highly suggestive of this), or is it merely BG-66 in a new packet?

BG6 does not have vectran. Bg66 loses tension rather fast compared to bg66. IMO. I guess yonex came out with BG6, as there was a time when theres a big hoo haa, over 0.66 strings to be more repulsive etc. A cheaper alternative i would say.:D

What a pity - a .66 Vectran would be some string - even if it only lasted 3 shots:D.

Ordered a set for testing (couldn't resist: it's SO cheap!).

I got a racquet with BG6 on it and I was like "What the...?" I dont like it, the shop I got the racquet from was in china and they only had black bg6 strings...yeh the whole shop only had one type of string. Its strung onto my NS9K type X at around 24lb and it feels like 23lbs around now. To be honest I hate it. I hate my NS9k I hate the strings I hate the tension. Since its my only racquent at the moment I have to use it. Takes alot of effort to smash and produce power. I think the strings are bad. No repulsion. Dont believe its that thin.

I finally got some Bg6 and strung up a racket at 29/32. Untensioned, side by side with Bg66, it looks slightly thicker and the finish does not have as much texture.

It's very easy to string with and doesn't feel fragile like Gosen Pro66.

I strung it 5 days ago before my wife used it during her lessons @ C2. Her coach actually said "whoa, nice sound" when he first heard her hit with it. 2 hours of play but she isn't a powerful hitter.
Yesterday, I used it for 2 hours. IMO excellent repulsion, power and nice sounding. Control is not bad either.l No knicks or breaks. Pro66 lasts me ~ 1 to 6 games. I'm also surprised that there isn't much tension loss. I aimed for a settled in tension of 26/29 and it feels about there.

It's good enough that I'm going to get some more.

I might order some bg6 as well, a cheaper bg66 alternative. I wonder if it's more durable than the BG6

It's been a few weeks since I've strung with the BG66 so I did one of my rackets yesterday with that as a comparison to the BG6. I did a test stretch on both of these strings and found they quickly drop about 2.5lbs at 30lbs. I set the machine for 29.5/33. The BG6 feels like it has a slick type coating on it that covers some of the texture in the BG66. Weaving the crosses after the tensioned mains is easy but not as easy as the BG6. The extra friction in the 66 is noticeable on the last few shared grommets on the crosses if I can't pull the sharing mains away. The string will twist. I'm going to play with it tonight but unless it is dramatically different, and I doubt it will be, BG6 will replace 66 for me.
