Hi there all BC'ers, I've just got my hands on a second hand Eagnas 10. However I was not given any instruction manual with it. I'm scratching my head wondering how in the world do I use it. I've emailed Eagnas, and they are charging me $15 for it~! I was wondering anyone here would have a spare copy or a copy that can be photocopied. I'd gladly pay for delivery and the cost of photocopy. Ta.
This machine is quite difficult to use for beginner. After tensioning the 4 to 6 main strings, you must be proceed to tension the 4 to 6 cross strings from the middle. You should be able to safely string badminton racquets up to 25 lbs. Note 1: you need one or two starter clamps from Eagnas too. Note 2: this is a highly unsupported drop-weight machine; so, drop the weight very slowly or the baddie racquets will crack!!!
Thanks for the information. The problem is the string to be pulled is not even tightly gripped, thus the drop weight just went all the way down without tightening the string. I have all the clamps needed to clamp all strings in the middle of the racquet though. Sigh...just don't know how/ what to do with it.
I think Pete suggested that to minimise the outward distortion at the sides because the machine is a 2-point mount with no wide clampdown adaptors at the head and throat support posts. That right?
Ah well, being a student here in the UK, I wouldn't want to fork out unnecessary money if I can help it. I pay my own fees and my own living. So, I try to not waste my hard earn money~! Thus having to seek help from my fellow BC'ers!
Since your machine is 2nd hand, i assume the string gripper surface might be "smoothed" from the previous jobs. Personally, I clean up the gripper and clamps after every 10 jobs or so, to wash all the teeth/surface, and get rid out all the chemicals. The way I do it, is to use a cheap tooth brush with medical alcohol. After you wash the tools, let it dry and re-assumble back.
