With the Bird Flu going around and price hikes, it's good to know there's a new player in the badminton shuttle market, Phoenix Shuttles (Phoenix).

The website will be up within a week: www.phoenixshuttles.com.

E-mail (up within 2 days): dennis@phoenixshuttles.com for more info.

Phoenix has spent many months doing R & D in trying to make the best shuttle for the money. Phoenix has focused on flight accuracy and durability.

Phoenix is offering three grades of shuttles: Gold, Silver, and Bronze and will be very competitively priced.

I will post more once I receive the shuttles and test them...hopefully this Friday or Monday. I will take pictures and give you my thoughts.

Disclaimer: I am not in any way associated nor compensated by Phoenix for this post.

From Dennis@PhoenixShuttles.com, shuttles should be in stock on this Wednesday and pricing is as follows, per tube:

    Gold: $15.00 (Retail), $13.00 (online)
    Silver: $14.00 (Retail), $10.50 (online)
    Bronze: $13.00 (Retail), $10.00 (online)

Gold roughly equivalent to Yonex AS-30/40
Silver roughly equivalent to Hi Qua Blue/Red
Bronze: roughly equivalent to Hi Qua Purple

Did you get a chance to test the shuttles over the past weekend? Looking forward for your review. ;)

Don't have any specifics but since you're in Cali and Phoenix Shuttles is in Cali I would assume minimal. :)

    Well? Any updates?

$13/tube for top-flight shuttles is very attractive, but, before I order any, I'd like to hear from the ultimate shuttle killer himself. :)

The shuttles are at the Port of Los Angeles but there's been a slight delay... Mr. Phoenix went to pick up the shuttles, so hopefully today.

Yesterday we played with a shuttle we had not previously tried before called "BG2". We played a tough match, 3 sets and killed 26 shuttles (20 were BG2, 6 were Victor Gold). Gonna have to stay away from that shuttle. :p

26 shuttles?!? I must say that's one expensive match.

Well, please do let us know how the Phoenix shuttles fare. May be only 14 of them per match, eh? :)

The Phoenix has landed! I didn't get a chance to do a complete test of the shuttles but I did hit with the Silver/Club grade and they fly true. More later, I need some sleep. :)
