I'm playing against this guy and all he does is do clears and overheads.:( Basically all he does is hit the birdy up... and pretty good aim at it too:( . Is there any way to counter this tactic effectively?

When someone "Spams" clears, it is usually because they are playing someone with weaker footwork. If you can get to the back faster, you will see that someone who is clearing all the way to the back is actually putting themselves in a disadvantage as you can hit any shot you want. However, for the moment, if you are able to hit shots that will speed up the pace and do not lift too much, you'll be fine.

dont return the ball to him, make him run all over the court and tire him up, hes tiring you too but using clears as his weapon, ones your timing is off youll miss hit. against a control player play aggressive, against an agressive player play flat and when against a flat player play control.

for aggressive style of play choose shots that are offensive, your opponent plays control so usually he'll send the shuttle high so go for the kill always, set yourself up for a killer shot. flat style of play is when you use shots that doesnt go too high for your aggressive opponent to smash like drives, push, drop, etc. and control style is the one you use on opponents who play flat like make him move all around the court by using control, taking it where you want to go and tire him.
