Default want to buy the book (both hard & soft copies)

    vip_m,

Can I buy the book from you?
I'm willing to pay the shipping to USA.

Moreover, if I bought the hardcopy book, can I get a discount
buying the ebook? Like just paying for the additional sections?

I don't like ebook that can't be printed out but I understand
    your concern of pirated copies.

    please let me know.

how should we work out the logistics (without spamming the
    whole forum)?

    Thank you.

    Default Best Book On Badminton

"Advanced Badminton Techniques" by Butch Oreta and Vip Malixi

Filled with step-by-step photographs and diagrams, former national-badminton-team coach and teaching-expert Butch Oreta and writer Vip Malixi reveal the secrets of world class players in this thorough yet easy-to-read, accessible book. Readers will learn to do the different shots—the serve, the jump smash, the tumbling net drop, drives, pushes, etc.—just like the elite players. They’ll find out the different psychological tactics to handle pressure situations; gain an impenetrable defense; learn the keys to greater stroke power, speed, control and deception.

Whether you're a beginner or the best, this is your guide to better badminton!

    Download/purchase now at...

    http://instructoons.com/book/

    Details:

Unlike in golf and tennis when being a teaching professional can be a lucrative profession, for badminton, the sport is not yet popular enough to support and sustain dedicated teachers of the sport. This situation is reflected in the currently available badminton instructional books: most are written by former players instead of teaching professionals thus they merely skim the surface of the sport, not really going in-depth into how best to explain and teach the proper techniques.

Luckily through the confluence of factors, this is about to change. Butch Oreta, a veteran of the game and a true teaching professional (for aside from playing the game, Butch has researched and studied the various techniques of elite players and has never stopped looking for ways to best teach the sport) and Vip Malixi, a writer, badminton enthusiast, illustrator and DTP expert (computer desktop publishing) have joined forces to come up with THE badminton instructional book. Butch Oreta's and Vip Malixi's "Advanced Badminton Techniques", using step-by-step photos, diagrams and illustrations with easy-to-read and understand descriptions, reveal the strokes, techniques and tactics of elite players. This is groundbreaking for it finally gives regular club players and novices the opportunity to access to the actual techniques used by varsity, national and even international players. This can only lead to a raising of the skill level of the game, the increased popularity of the sport, and more enjoyment by its participants.

I'm not keen on a book that I can't print but I understand why you are doing this.

How much would postage be to the UK and would you be willing to sell me a copy (either directly or via eBay)?

    Thanks.

Default Badminton Techniques book now available!

If you're like me, you probably envied your tennis and golfing buddies because they had all these books, videos, coaches, and training camps to choose from when it comes to learning to play better.

Why didn't we have the same variety of good instructional books for badminton? Well publishers have told me that the current market for our sport is too small to justify the investment in time, money and resources to come up with a really good book.

Well, I wasn't satisfied with this. So I took the bull by the horns and convinced Butch Oreta, one of the best badminton teaching professionals in my country (and probably up there in the world) to reveal the techniques of world-class badminton players so we mere mortals can actually learn them and apply them to our own games with the hopeful result of better play and more enjoyment of the sport.

After several months of videos, photographs, writing, laying out, editing, we've come with our masterpiece: "Advanced Badminton Techniques". Just like the best golf and tennis instructional manuals, this book is intuitive, evenly-paced. The text are short and very readable, yet complete and clear. There are loads of pictures to explain everything. It covers power: teaching you how to have more power in all your strokes: smashes, drives, serves, etc. It teaches control: how to make those deft drops and net shots. It teaches tactics: court rotation in doubles, what to do to overcome the stresses and anxieties of crucial points and remain cool and composed, sports psychology tactics, etc. It teaches the secret stamina techniques employed by world-class players so that you're almost never tired no matter how many smashes you pound throughout the match. It explains in step-by-step fashion how to do the most-requested techniques: jump smash, tumbling net drop, high backhand, late shots, etc. It mentions the common faults and how to avoid them and it gives great tips used by top players all throughout.

So if you're interested in getting better at badminton, check out "Advanced Badminton Techniques" at...

Surprisingly I have just been flipping to different topics and have not read the book entirely yet. At first glance, I find the book quite informative with good drawings and pictures. As an intermediate player, I think it will be quite helpful. I find all the descriptions of the different techniques very clear.

    Suggestions/ other topics
I think something on finger power would be good.

The picture of Butch in a ready position on page 14 he looks "shocked".
Compared to other sources the racket seems to be high above the net.

    Best regards

    Arthur

    ------------

    Hey Vip,

I like the book so far but I think it is best to have video clips of
most of the strokes. Though the picture by picture illustration is
better than most of the books out there, they are still not enough in
my opinion. Looking forward to the video clips online. Thanks.

    Cheers,

    KT

Thank you for sending me a printable version.
Just one question - how can I print the "Badminton Psychological Tactics"? I think it is blocked.
    Frank

    ------------------------------------

    Hi Vip.

Surprisingly I have just been flipping to different topics and have not
read the book entirely yet. At first glance, I find the book quite
informative with good drawings and pictures. As an intermediate player,
I think it will be quite helpful. I find all the descriptions of the
different techniques very clear. Although I may not agree with them all,
I do see the merits described. The only part I find lacking is the last
section on Tactics. With the title of the book being Advanced Badminton
Techniques, I think a lot more can be said about tactics and strategy.
There was hardly any mention on how to play singles vs doubles. The book
does describe doubles rotation but in only a very simplified form. This
is great if you are playing with different partners all the time who are
maybe not very familiar with doubles rotation but I feel much more can
    be said.
I will try to go through the book from the beginning next week when I
    have more time.
All in all, a very good book.
