Preston There is a guy here that goes by the username Coops - I believe he is based up near Preston. Cheers Sean
If you are not a beginner there is a good public drop-in session run at Leyland Leisure Centre on Sunday morning. The standard is usually pretty good with a lot of Division 2, 3 and 4 players regularly turning up. It starts around 10.30 and goes on until 1 (or until the last man drops if nobody else has booked the courts. Costs £2.50 on the door and then somebody else collects £1 or so for feather shuttles. There's three courts available. It's a good starting place to make contact with some of the clubs.
sheesh.. i've been a bit slow on this one.. 3 months after posting i spot it.. spending so much time in the gym and training. nway.. yes.. i'm based in preston. what would you like to know? Coops

Chapel street There was a very good leisure centre that had badminton on mondays etc. Dont know wether it still does but it was quite high level. It was down a road to the right as you walk down chapel street near winkley square in preston town centre. (just off main highstreet between fishergate shopping centre and st georges shopping centre) Hope that helps
Not a clue its been 10 years since I played in Preston but it was where all the better people from surrounding clubs went to play at a higher level. Most of them were county league players.
If the leisure centre was the "cardinal newman college" sports centre, unfortunately, it is closed and for a long time I think because there was a big pancard which was printed "all enquiries", so... thanks anyway
ah yes, this was where cardinals used to play - i think the sports centre is due to be demolished and rebuilt... or perhaps has already been demolished and is still being rebuilt.
I find a club but from next week, league matches will begin and it won't be possible to do training anymore... is there anyone right here who knows if there is a place in preston or not far away (5miles max) where we can do training? Thanks all Sam
Preston Badminton So is there an open place at Preston, UK to play badminton. Could someone please provide further details. Is there any place near city center? Thanks!
If you have a county standard and you don't want to play county matches, UK isn't a good country to live if you want to play badminton... Good players play only tournaments and interclub matches, they almost never do training so it's difficult to have hard games...
Did anyone find a club in preston? I'll be up there for 2 weeks during the weekdays, so anything around then? Thanks. Tarakan
You can try Citrus Club. We arrange weekly badminton games, and have players of all abilities.. See our web-site at http://www.citrusclub.org/
Is this still happening? Just moved into Preston and looking for somewhere for my husband and I to play in the area, any suggestions appreciated! I've played in the Blackburn league, 2nd division, but a long time ago. Hubby is pretty decent but has never played in a league, we're just looking to get some practice. Thanks!
