In Malaysia Chinese newspapers write LEE Chong Wei as 李宗伟 In China newspapers write LEE Chong Wei as 李崇伟
Also the chinese paper know it better?!? The malaysia paper think unconsciously about his ethnicity? (Freudsche Fehlleistung) google translate: 1) 李宗伟 = Li Zhongwei (Li Ancestor Great) in the malaysia paper 2) 李崇伟 = Li Chong Wei (Li Honors Great) in the chinese paper ( 宗 = Ancestor, 崇 = Honors )
rumors claims tat he changes his chinese name........ since the english translation is still the same as his ID...... so no offence to the law......
if i were u, i will ask him to carve his name at my back like Yue Fei's mother did . next time remember to hug him too
It should be 李宗伟. In Malaysia, we don't use "han yu pin yin" for our chinese name. Not like in China. And normally you also won't see Malaysian people use "Zhong" word for their name. Because we use Malay spelling for name not English nor Chinese. So "Zhong" would be "Chong". My friend's chinese name has a 宗 , and in his I/C it is 'Chong".
I think what it means is not literally malay spelling, but "english" translation from dialect, as Chinese in Malaysia usually have names that are spelt using dialect rather than han yu pin yin. Eg: Koo Kien Keat(hokkien)
he change his chinese name due to some personal reasons... so the china papers are actually correct...
