:crying: :crying: :crying: OMG!!! The price increase is tremendous. I just saw a quotation from Sunrise and it reads

    From 1st March 2006,

    Yonex Aerosena 40 (Goose Feather) - $27.10 (w/o GST)

Thats $28.50 with GST and mind you guys, the price is COST price for every 500 tubes ordered.

I call up my fren, even if you order 1000 tubes the cost will only go down by a few cents he said!!

The reason he said Sunrise gave him : Avian Flu.

It use to be $21.80 cost price for AS-40. The worst thing is all other AS models shuttlecock also increased.

I went to call up other brands........ALL of them said price increase also.

Can anyone or any supplier of other brands validate this please. Thanks. I can confirm it has happened in Singapore for Yonex Aerosena Shuttles.

Thanks for your help whoever who can confirm whether it is across the board rise.

I have tried RSL and Protech PT-10 b4. The problem is they cost $22 per tube. (Dunno whether it is still $22 now) And when i use them i have to use 3-4 shuttle per match. Reason being everytime when i smash 2 or 3 times they went out of shape. I have to reduce my smashes to chops in order to make them last longer and their flight path is inconsistent. Even chops get their brittle feathers off easily. For AS 30 or 40 at least i use 2-3 on the average sometimes 1-2 because of its durability.

    3-4 = 5.50 to 7.33 for Protech

    1-2 = 2.10 to 4.20 for Yonex

Savings = $3 bucks plus consistent flight path.

Hmmmm, I think you get much better quality AS-30/40/50s then we do in the U.S. My experience has been the AS40/50 shuttles are comparable in durability to the RSL Classic Tourney which is $19USD/tube. The RSL Tourney No. 1 is comparable as well at $15-$17USD/tube.

If it's a hard hitting two game match, we'll go through 8-12 Yonex AS50s (not that we use this shuttle much, if at all with the price hike to $36/tube).

I recommend you to use more RSL Classic, comparing to RSL Tourney No.1, for in general, the quality of all the shuttles are going down. Better choose the top line of the shuttles. Especially for Advanced players.

I've tried both RSL Tourney Classic & RSL Tourney nr 1 and didn't feel much difference. Both are ok and last fairly long, at least here in Europe (have bought both from Finland & Germany). What difference have you noticed between these? Here the main difference is that Classic is a bit more expensive...

Same thing will be in Taiwan as well. I cannot say the time out loud, but Yonex shuttles will go up 20% and this will appy to AS 30-50.

The main difference I have seem between the TC and No. 1 is the thickness of the feathers. The TC feathers seem to be a bit more robust, first tier of the "premium grade" feathers. The No. 1 has premium grade feathers as well, they are second tier. I know that's splitting hairs but the TC is supposed get the best of the best.

With that said, I've not seen much difference between the two either. :p Just know that if you buy the TC, you are definitely getting the best RSL has to offer (at least supposed to). :)

For my level of playing, medium, RSL Classic is more solid, even drop a few feather, it can keep stable. The RSL No.1 sometimes feel loose after play for a while, it doesnot feel as strong as original. I mean some shuttles. While RSL Classic will keep feedback the same feeling when you hit the shuttles.

For the National level players, they go through tons of RSL No.1 in tournament, while only about 60%-70% of shuttles if they use RSL Classic.

So RSL Classic do help in Advanced game and for most level of players, RSL No.1 will be a good choice.

    I agree.....

Nowadays i find that the feathers are more brittle than before. And out of 1 dozen of shuttles in a tube i will find 1 or 2 shuttles with feathers that has turn yellowish. Even for AS-50 as well. I was invovled in a sparring game with some of Singapore's National Intermediate doubles squad (usually they use AS -30) and happen to see some of the shuttles (AS-50) yellowish in color on some parts of the feathers. I was shocked. Tournament grade shuttles!! But i think maybe the shuttles are left over from some major tournaments held here (e.g Aviva 2005) but still they should not be yellowish in color.
