My friend said that Santa Clara High School will start having open on Saturday from 1pm - 6pm.

    Cost: $2

They will also be selling drinks at a very good price.

    water: $0.50
    small gatorade: $0.75
    other sport drinks: $1.25

    Pros: they have 10 courts
Cons: the nets arent pulled tight enough(not sure if you can) so the net is kind of low and even if you play there for an hour thier lights are really blinding.

Do they still have that? I played there for high school competitions, but I didn't know they had such a great deal for an open gym.

Darn, $2 for 5 hours is really good, and I'm used to high school (hence, bad) lighting, so makes little diff to me. And if those are the prices for the drinks, that's a great plus...

Wait. Why would they have open gym ONCE season starts? I thought that since they need the gym, they wouldn't have open gym there. I'm confused.

if you check the time stamp it said it was March 4 2006 that is 7 months ago March is the begining of season... badminton isnt the most important sport to most schools around here so they only get the gym during season which is from Feb-May from june-jan theres other sports like volleyball and basketball using the gym.

Your 7 months too late -___-

It's ok if I'm late, there are other places I can go to, but I just joined the forum lately (last month), so it's not like I knew about it 7 months ago. But it's just that the deal sounded nice, and I thought that maybe some of the players from my rival schools (Santa Clara's one of them) would be there, and I could see how well I'm doing in comparison, see how tough the competition during this upcoming season's goign to be like.

[IMG] I wish the kids at my school had as much drive as you do and worked as hard. GL on your upcoming season.

    Just wondering ...

Do they have mostly HS players or are there more competitive players that play there?

There can be some pretty good high schoolers, depends on where you go. Luck? I suppose we need it. We went 3 and 9 last year, and that was considered a very good year for our team.

SC high school wouldn't happen to be open right around now, would it? It'd be great if it was. BTW, which schools do you ppl go to? I go to Los Gatos myself, terrible team...

Wait. Really? We play your school! We got schooled so bad at your school last year, I think it was at least 40+ to our 10-, but our coach was so upset with us that he didnt' even tell us the score. What do you play? I'd like to meet another BCer, maybe at a game this year?

NO WAY! I probably played you last year, 'cause I played JV Mixed #1 too, tho' I'm pretty sure we lost...You go to any open gyms? It'd be great if we would meet up. I switched to singles this year, but I guess I'll still see you 'round!

ummm i might of played you i played against this kinda short asian girl with this big white guy i think...=/ dont remember that well but that was the 1st time we played you last year when it was at your gym. i was the guy with the really flat doubles serve than your partner asked me how i served like that. Did you play JV #1 1st time you played us or 2nd? i dont go to open gym since our school doesnt support badminton as much as basketball so we dont get any kinda of open gym till Jan 29 but it would only be for team only maybe on saturdays... i do go to bintang almost every friday at like 5 pm

Oh, those two were the JV1 then, but I think I mighta been V2 that time. LOL, she did? She's a senior now. Eh, I played JV1 second time. Ow, that's kinda the same with our school. Bin Tang? Isn't that sort of far? It's in Sunnyvale. You don't go to Camden, Campbell, Moreland, or anything else like that?

Bintang from Cupertino isn't all that bad. I can drive from Cupertino to Bintang in less than 15 min and that's only driving at 65mph. If I were to drive 80mph then I could probably get there in 10.

Hm...perhaps I'm taking the long way. But from Los Gatos, it takes about half hour, I think?
