Hi all, has anyone ever heard of these racquets breaking just above the cone on the handle? I recently purchased two of these within six months of each other. The first time it happened i thought it was a fluke, but now the second racquet is showing signs of the paint on the shaft cracking and small fleck breaking off. The serial numbers are both the same 3902276 050728SP. Has anyone come across this before?

    Cheers

Well, I wouldn't be surprised that fakes break down easily. It is very common.

Yes, this serial number has been documented many times in this forum as being fakes, and whilst some fakes have decent durability, others, such as yours here, often snap frequently.

Well, mine is supposed to be genuine and I broke it from exactly the same place  . I bought it from 10 & 10 Sports from Singapore (in December 2005, sales guy was David Gan), serials are 5140451 in shaft and 030948SP in cone. Has Sunrise sticker and all. I broke it a week ago - there has been no clashes (I haven't played doubles with this racquet), no paint chips, no physical evidence of stress in the handle. It simply broke into two pieces during play! I've asked from Yonex Finland what to do with no reply...

All ideas about what to do with this racquet gladly taken.

Uups, cone number is 030943SP. Sunrise sticker was on top of it so it isn't really easy to read it...
