    A confirmation from Mr Gunalan

A confirmation from Mr Gunalan, The TUC will use the previous format; which is SDSDS but not SSSDD.

    Confirmation format as below:
    1) 1st Singles
    2) 1st Doubles
    3) 2nd Singles
    4) 2nd Doubles
    5) 3rd Singles

Cheer.... I like this format.

As far as I know the Thomas Cup will use SDSDS while the Uber Cup will follow the traditional SSSDD.

I think SDSDS is so much better.

Because the championship can be finished in 3 matches, ie 3-0, in SDSDS, at least, we are allowed to first compare each nation's best Singles Player and best Doubles Pair.

SSSDD is too excessively devoted to Singles strength.

But the best is to finish at 2-2, so that we can compare each nation's 3rd best Singles Player.

I agree that the SDSDS format is better and more fun to watch.

Maybe the organizers for the Uber Cup hopes for 3-0 wins to make it go faster since ladies' singles is played up to 11 points only. :) just kidding... A reasonable guess is that more Uber Cup participants tend to play both singles and doubles. i.e. Mia Audina. She's #1 in singles and doubles for her country, if the SDSDS format is followed then I'm sure she won't be too pleased about it. Also Lee Yun Hwa played 3rd singles and 2nd doubles in 2004.

Errrr..... I don't think the 11 scoring system still in used in WS.
And if the case as you mentioned, a player play for singles event & doubles event then they will use the format of SSSDD.
The rest, all will use SDSDS.

    Not really taufik-ist,

Because there are 3 Singles and 2 Doubles, TC is still biased, favouring Singles over Doubles.

The strength in Singles is still very much in China. The strength in Doubles now belongs to Indonesia, Denmark and Malaysia.

So, if China can win all their Singles each time, then China should win by 3-0, 3-1 or 3-2.

Not really ...... I still confident with Fu/Cai.
And Lin Dan is not the only KEY, if LD is sick or injured then CHN still have CH, BCL, CJ & XXZ. Do you think any team MS can really beat them easily even without LD?

lol you sound like your hoping for that to happen ;). Well to be totally honest, I think that China wont have much trouble because they're team is so stable. Remember, Lin Dan is awsome in team matches:).

that's true. Xia Xuanze is more valuable than Sang Yang :)

I think situation where BCL's injury and CH's off-form is more likely to occur than Cai/Fu's probability to get injured, that's why you need one more single player. :D
