Hi, I have a yonex at800df grip and I have read through alot of ppls threads and everybody seems to have extra grips on top of there G4 grips. I am 14 years old(going to be 15) with i guess average size hands, smaller than an adults though and I was wondering, would getting another grip on top of the yonex armortec effect any aspects of my game, like smashing or what not because I'll have a better handle on my raquet? All opinions are great. Thanks

In my opinion, you should apply overgrip to it. If you are comfortable with the size of your grip, then apply a thin layer. I grip my AT 800 DE 3UG4 with Yonex Supergrap wrapped extra thick. My hands are small as well but I really prefer large grips. Give it a shot and see what you're comfortable with.

actually, i just looked to double check and my grip is 3G, would you still recommend to put 1 overgrip on top of that and if i don't like it then just take it off?

well play a few double games and smash as hard as often as u possibly can.
if you notice your finger nail's starting to hurt because they'r
really digging in yr palm when u Squeeze the handle on impact
then your grip is too small for your hand.
on the other hand if you feel that your finger is literaly losing power to grip
the racket firmly in your hand becasue you find it hard and a lot of effort
to change front hand/ back hand grip in a game.. the chances are
your grip is too large making it hard to rotate the handle with yr fingers.

You could probably try a thin grip. However if you find that G3 w/o grip feel perfect for you, then the grip would be already too big if you factored in overgrip.

For me, my hands fit a G3 or 4, but I use G5/4.5 and use a single Babolat Syntec and overlap 1/2 for double laying to build it up.
