One more winner to the list is S. Pasturel (Jersey). I umpired her (the last match of the afternoon)...her opponent from Uganda retired due to an injury, poor thing, she could barely hit the shuttle properly. It was basically serve; hit out (or into the net)

She can probably make it to the QF. But after that the QF and SF are held on the same day. It may be a step too high for her. But I wish her best.

yup, i think mew choo deserves to keep her unbeaten run going due to her heroics yesterday.
and since the men's events are likely to be won by the malaysians (well, i'd put it at 60-70%), i'm going to be supporting the indians!
come on anup, anand and diju!
oh yeah, and saina as well, 16 year old taking on the world, well, the commonwealth at least ...

Interesting predictions...My predictions differ slightly in that I think Hendra might beat Moody and Aaron Tan might take out Ghaffar.

We'll see tomorrow. I admit Hendra v John Moody is a close call, but I think Aaron is just too inexperienced against someone like Aamir.

If luck is on India's side, they could well have 3 quarter-finalist or none at all by tomorrow. 2 players will face Singaporean players and the match could go either way. I personally have the same prediction with regards to these matches: Li Li will win while Nehwal will continue her impressive form in the Commonwealth Games. She is indeed a very good prospect for Team India. With a good coach and sparring partner, she will be a top 10-20 players in time to come.

A good win for the Singaporean pair, while the fancied pairs continue their good form. We could well have semi-final matches involving Robertson/Emms vs Saputra/Li as well as Koo/Wong vs Shirley/Runesten-Petersen.
