One more winner to the list is S. Pasturel (Jersey). I umpired her (the last match of the afternoon)...her opponent from Uganda retired due to an injury, poor thing, she could barely hit the shuttle properly. It was basically serve; hit out (or into the net)
MD R32 completed Byes: Chan/Koo (Mas) Blair/Clark (Mas) Beres/Milroy (Can) Bellingham/Cooper (Nzl) Notable winners in R32: Hughes/Lewis (Wal) Saputra/Susilo (Sin) Anand/Diju (Ind) Brehaut/Denney (Aus) Shirley/Moody (Nzl) Choong/Wong (Mas) Two Fiji pairs also made it to the last 16. Their names: Fong R/Molia B Fong G/Molia F
She can probably make it to the QF. But after that the QF and SF are held on the same day. It may be a step too high for her. But I wish her best.

yup, i think mew choo deserves to keep her unbeaten run going due to her heroics yesterday. and since the men's events are likely to be won by the malaysians (well, i'd put it at 60-70%), i'm going to be supporting the indians! come on anup, anand and diju! oh yeah, and saina as well, 16 year old taking on the world, well, the commonwealth at least ...
XD R64 completed A lot of pairs has byes in this round, including: Robertson/Emms (Eng) Shirley/Runesten (Nzl) Koo/Wong (Mas) Clark/Kellogg (Eng) Saputra/Li (Sin) Wijaya/Liu (Sin) Denney/Wilson Smith (Aus) Wong CH/Ooi SA (Mas) but they face Robertson/Emms in R32 Notable R64 winners: Cooper/Shirley (Nzl) Smith/Lucas (Aus) Archer/Tripp (Eng) Susilo/Jiang (Sin) Brehaut/Carrol (Aus) R32 will be played tonight and interesting matches are: Robertson/Emms (Eng) v Wong CH/Ooi SA (Mas) Clark/Kellogg (Eng) v Wijaya/Liu (Sin) Predicting a double English victory there...
MS R32 completed No upsets. R16 lineup: (Predicted winner in bold) Lee CW (Mas) v Bourret (Can) Bellingham (Nzl) v Sridhar (Ind) Milroy (Canada) v N. Karunaratne (Sri) Ghaffar (Eng) v Aaron Tan (Sin) H. Wijaya (Sin) v Moody (Nzl) Beeharry (Mri) v Anand (Ind) D. Karunaratne (Sri) v Kendrick Lee (Sin) Wong CH (Mas) v Dabeka (Can)
Interesting predictions...My predictions differ slightly in that I think Hendra might beat Moody and Aaron Tan might take out Ghaffar.
We'll see tomorrow. I admit Hendra v John Moody is a close call, but I think Aaron is just too inexperienced against someone like Aamir.
WS R32 completed No upsets. Bellingham got close to beating Susan Hughes. Score was 21-19, 16-21, 21-18. In another match Aparna Popat easily disposed of Julia Wong. R16 lineup: (Predicted winner in bold) Hallam (Eng) v Morgan (Wal) Hindley (Nzl) v Luiz (Aus) Li Li (Sin) v Popat (Ind) - close call Reid (Can) v Cann (Eng) - another close call Murgunde (Ind) v Hughes (Sco) Liu Fan (Sin) v Rice (Can) Xing (Sin) v Nehwal (Ind) - match of the day Pasturel (Jer) v Wong MC (Mas)

If luck is on India's side, they could well have 3 quarter-finalist or none at all by tomorrow. 2 players will face Singaporean players and the match could go either way. I personally have the same prediction with regards to these matches: Li Li will win while Nehwal will continue her impressive form in the Commonwealth Games. She is indeed a very good prospect for Team India. With a good coach and sparring partner, she will be a top 10-20 players in time to come.
A good win for the Singaporean pair, while the fancied pairs continue their good form. We could well have semi-final matches involving Robertson/Emms vs Saputra/Li as well as Koo/Wong vs Shirley/Runesten-Petersen.
MD R16 completed Chan/Koo (Mas) bt Hughes/Lewis (Wal) 12, 13 Saputra/Susilo (Sin) bt Anand/Diju (Ind) 14, 8 Bellingham/Cooper (Nzl) bt Fong R/Molia B (Fij) 13, 9 Brehaut/Denney (Aus) bt Beeharry/Clarisse (Mri) 10, 11 Morgan/Phillips (Wal) bt Fong G/Molia F (Fij) 7, 9 Choong/Wong (Mas) bt Beres/Milroy (Can) 19, 20 - tough one Smith/Moody (Nzl) bt Smith/Warfe (Aus) 15, -19, 19 Blair/Clark (Eng) bt Seepaul/Pantin (Tri) 6, 13 QF lineup: (Predicted winners in bold - all seem one-sided) Chan/Koo (Mas) v Saputra/Susilo (Sin) Bellingham/Cooper (Nzl) v Brehaut/Denney (Aus) Choong/Wong (Mas) v Morgan/Phillips (Wal) Blair/Clark (Eng) bt Smith/Moody (Nzl)
