Can someone look at this http://www.mybadmintonstore.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=122 and tell me what the difference between types A and D? I can see where you'd need different types like A and B or C, but D just seems to be a thinner version of A. I've probably been using the wrong type of grommet if it is. Also, can you not just cut the type C down to fit a type B size? Thanks for any advice
According to the spec provided by Hi Qua, Type A and Type D are of same diameter but different length.
what about yy armortec-grommets? those faltted on top...where can I get those? some of them I see have "cracked" but them string still not connects with the frame. but i cnanot replace them..I think..
A is the regular "single string" gromment, which usually to be found at the top of the head, or middle of the frame. D is the longer version, which only to be used around the T joint area, where the frame is usually thicker.
If those gromments are really in bad shape, you can replace them with a regular gromment. The effect on the performance should be very minimal, while the impact on string life span is huge (no more cut string).
Well, personally I only work with A and C. B is a shorter version of C, and you can cut C to make B, just make sure smooth the cutting edge. D is hardly to be needed. You can always find several useable ones from the old/broken rackets.
It is better to replace with new grommet ,or useable one from a broken new racket only ,old plastic are not in good condition!!! MING
