Thread: mandarins rules?
03-26-2006, 02:46 AM #1
So I hear about mandarin that you have to wear badminton shoes, which I'm fine with. Must have a white shirt on while playing? Also for membership if anyone goes there do you have to pay 400$ a year or just 400$ for 5 years cuz I'm really cheap . If neone can get back to me on this
P.S How do you signup for offsaa with u're school?

Sorry I can only answer your last question lol. To get to OFSAA you have to win the regional championships. Top 2 move on from there to OFSAA. However, to get to the championships, you have to get through round 1 and 2. Toronto is slightly different from York Region in terms of the paths and setting up of teams so just wait till someone from Toronto area can you a better explanation than me =P

Its a tradition to wear all white from all those high-class club house "british origin"... Or maybe madarin ordered so many white shirt at first and now they want to sell them all thru their pro-shop... ONE OF THE WORSE POLICY IN MANDARIN~~~

By all white do they mean 100% white? or can it be a white shirt that's maybe 85% white?
07-06-2006, 02:19 PM #12
just your tops
is fine... i remember they have a signs said at least 70%..
08-05-2006, 10:24 AM #13
the signs before u enter the courts says 85%......but the general rule is white top (doens't have to be pure white, could have logos) and any colour shorts.....

Well, they let you have shirts with coloured stripes (They sell them). Personally, I have never noticed a problem with this. I have problems with places that need white shorts.

The white shirt rule is stupid IMO. Even the most traditional tournament, the All England, has abandoned this rule for many years. Not to mention the white top only rule is making badminton looks dull and old fashion from the outsider.
Now I wonder if they would ask Gong Ruina to wear white top only when she come for the exhibition games.

The shirt she wore to meet us at the camp was white with light blue sides and a DHS logo in the middle (Yesterday)

i don't find the all white policy any intrusive...
i find it quite nice
maintains a nice decor of the game and makes it look neat and uniform
but then i also see that it can pose a problem for lots of beginners who dont' usually own white sports shirts... etc etc
i had to buy new stuff when i got on the school team... hahaha
