China is almost assured of Women team events gold medal, WS and WD gold and silver medals. Three out of seven gold medals already in China's hand. Also looks strong in others events but is not guaranteed. Indonesia will challenge Men team events, MS, MD and XD golf medal. I think, same to Malaysia and Korea as well. Thailand could spring a surprise in XD.
Yea Msia will definitely challenge for the team events. Msia actually won this year's Continental Stages for the Thomas Cup beating Indonesia and Korea en route to the trophy.
I think Malaysia better be serious in Doha Asian Games preparation after the poor performance in WC2006. If the results counts on how many gold medals could be collected from badminton events, then, base on current forms, if I were Yap Kim Hock, I will put my bet on MD and XD. For MD pairs, Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/ Lin Woon Fui should be selected and the other bet should go for CCM/KKK. XD, KKK/WPT should go for more training against others MD pairs. If LCW manage to reach peak form in Asian Games and won a gold in MS would be a bonus. Malaysia Men Team events looks promising to get a silver medal but I don't rule out the possibility to get a gold if WCH is included and regained his form.
