    Hi everyone,
Which is better for an intermediate (i think) badminton player?? The Court shoes i plan on getting is the Wilson Slice http://www.sportmart.ca/store/2prod...2651&mscssid=PTPE3BQJH4AE9LRDN5W3WUPTJB18A314
Are these shoes good for badminton?

I don't know if I should get Badminton shoes as they are pretty expensive and I don't think I deserve them yet.... Are there any Badminton shoes that around the same price range and are better than the Wilson Slice?

Are there any major differences between court shoes and badminton shoes?

    Please help :D
    thanks

One thing about badminton shoes over regular court shoes is they offer better protection. There are features which specially designed based on badminton movement requirements. Therefore, a pair of badminton shoes is not only "boost" up your performance, but more offering protection and prevent injury.

Therefore, if you play quite often and in a compeititve level, save up for a pair of badminton shoes is highly suggested. If you play not as often, or just in recreation level of playing (i.e. not much movement required), then, a good pair of court shoes might be an alternate choice.

Great post by LazyBuddy. If you're an intermediate player, I'd definitely get a pair of badminton shoes over normal court shoes. You'll see a difference.

I'm not familiar with the Wilson Shoe but the SOTX S-18 and RSL RS-0090 are pretty good for the money.

    Thanks everyone,

But the thing is, I can only buy old models of shoes because of my price range. I don't want to spend too much until i get better. So the thing is, do I buy an old model of a Badminton shoe, or a fairly new model of court shoes? THe main question is, does the old models of badminton shoe still have the features new badminton shoes have now?? (ankle protection, that kind of stuff for badminton players)

would Yonex SHB 571 and Yonex SHB 55 be considered an old model? do they provide the same support and benefits (for a badminton shoe) as the new models of shoes? (ie. SHB 99, SHB 98, SHB 98)

im not familiar with those but yonex shb 68 and shb 89 mg are a bit old like 2004. these are comfortable shoes and are fairly light. my coach, who made world juniors for australia and made the national squad has had his shoes for a long time. he uses the older version of the asics gel tactic indoor trainers. they look almost the same. they go for about 48 pounds, so i dont know what that works out for you. i use a pair of nike indoor shoes for my badminton. they have lasted me for about 4 years now and there arent any holes. the only thing is that theres some loose thread no and there. these are comfortable and are very long lasting. i bought these when i first started and havent changed them since, i bought them for about $60 aus.

    Your advise

I'm planning to buy this new NIKE COURT SHUTTLE 2. I don't really know much about its history or performance as the store said it was a new model for Badminton. Have you heard of this model?
