i know this is abit off topic, but can anyone advise where to get reasonably priced yonex racquets in HK? i'm going over there soon. thanks...
Just visit some famous shops, such as Mister Keen, Wan Kee, Emmy, Racket Pro shop................... You can find the full address by search function, we have posted it before. Wellcome to Hong Kong!!
hi forrestyung, thank you for replying. can u give me a rough estimate of the prices for at800de 3u and mp99 3u so i know if its better to buy in HK or in singapore. thanks.
likewise, i will be going to hong kong soon and am wondering where to buy and how much to spend. currently im looking for an at700, at 800 of, mp99 and a mp 100. if any one could give me any info it would be great
thanks for that forrstyung. but would it be cheaper in china, and where would you get authentic ones from, do you have to go to a yonex shop or something?
absolutely not tangy. even peoples from mainland china come to hk for authentic rackets as well as for a better price.
well im looking to upgrade from my carbonex sp. i was looking at the armortecs and the mp 99 and mp 100. but then i can get a great deal on some ashaway mp 990. i can get it for $60 aus each. but i thought u could get them cheaper in hong kong. where else is good to get authentic cheap yonex racquets
which carbonex racket are u currently using? my point is if u have found the one which suit your style. why not sticking with it? do clone rackets come close to the original in porformance? anyway, imo if u wanna buy some authentic rackets in good price. just come to hong kong!
im using a carbonex 21 sp, strung with bg-65 at 24lbs. its an ok racket but i like the feel and weight of the mp 99 and the ashaway mp 990. my budget is about $100 aus for a racket because otherwise i can get an mp 990 for $70
sotx in hk? forrest, of the hk badminton shops u mentioned, would any of them sell sotx? also which one is easy to get to? i will be staying near ladies market. thanks
not sure about mister keen but definately not at wan kee. i think racket pro shop in mong kok should carry sotx rackets. check it out.
In Mong Kok, if I am correct, only Racket Shop is selling SOTX rackets. E-78.com also is selling this brand, but only carries some models and not nearby the Ladies Market.
For Lightsmash, What Forestyoung mentioned are definitely the right shops to hit. I can second the opinion that rackets in HKG are generally cheaper than in SIN, but not by much (so donot set your expectation to high). You may manage to shave off about SGD10-20 max if you are really good in bargaining. Another thing you may want to look at are those brands that are not commonly found in SIN, such as Le Flanche/Foza/Kimano/Kason etc. (Personally I think Kason is one of those value-for-money alternative). For Jaicee, My understanding is Racket Shop is the only agent in HKG dealing with SOTX. Many other shops do not even know this brand at all. In terms of the range of SOTX available, it is definitely more than the sole dealer in SIN. By the way, many of these shops are just on a adjacent street (Fa Yuen Kai) to "ladies street" (Tong Choi Kai to be exact). To bad I wont be back to HKG for a while, otherwise I would be more than happy to bring you guys around for a racket shopping trip.
thanks guys. actually i will be in sin and then hong kong and then back to sin (gf from sin). so plan to check out the shops in sin then hk. in nz don't have sotx, kason, etc. so want to try them out
