i play mixed doubles, and i play the back most of the times. so a lot of smashing is done.

what racquet are you currently using?
    Do you like it?
Do you want the new one to be similar (as a backup) ?
Do you not like your current one, and want something different?

I own an Airblade Lite as a backup racket. It is quite powerful and has good control, plus the strings on the racket are decent enough to not have them restrung. The Yonex 53 mf however will need new strings beacuse the factory strings just won't do. Also, the Yonex is an Iso head and the Airblade is an Oval head. I prefer ovals, they have very good power and are easy to get used to.

but isn't the Airblade Lite headlight, and headlight racquets are for defensive plays, not for smashing based.

It's easier for me to smash with it because headheavy rackets I find to be too heavy in its feel and after a few hard rallies, I find it hard to get enough wrist strength to smash properly. Maybe it is just me.

I would say try the yonex racquet. From my experience, the low end carlton racquet such as the Airblade Lite you mentioned are good but to me, I seem to have to use quite a bit of arm power and also technique for clears and smashes. For higher end racquets, clears and smashes are almost effortless.

so in ur opinion the isometric 53 mf is a higher end racquet than the airblade light

So in USD, your budget is around $41.67. Lemme see.., well, if that includes shipping, then it'd probably be down to $31.67.:( I think you'll need a bigger budget, lol. Unless you're planning to buy from a retail store locally; if so, I can't really help you much.

pick the one you feel you like better.

but if you'd really like to know, in terms of specificiations, on paper, strictly, the carlton is of higher quality. but thats only in terms of construction and materials.

not to mention when it came out in 2002-2003, it would of sold for over $150.

but its not yonex. its carlton. so obviously it'll lose value in a much quicker fashion.

One of my first rackets was the ISO MF53, i have the 2U version. You definately wont get much smashing power out of it, its more of a defensive racket.

carlton airblade light uses high modulous graphite, iso53 is graphite/aluminum so ..... kinda obvious carlton is better XD
