mmoa develops a new racket(NANO 88 holes) those holes are independent to improve holding tension longer and less damage when your racket crash with your partner
The tension holding part sounds...sound. However, I'm not sold on the more holes the better for durability. Looking at the NS9000 just scares me...I've already seen one person have a light to moderate clash and his 9000 broke, right at the 2 o'clock position.
Nah...Winex also has the 88 holes which leads me to suspect that both MMOA and Winex probably came from the same Taiwanese factory.
I just think Winex, MMOA and Victor should buy OEM rackets from Manufacturer. Winex and MMOA both have 88 holes racket and MMOA and Victor both have Anti Vibration Bridge racket. In fact, it is quite common in AV equipments.
Which brand and Where?? Babolat should be the first brand to use this system, but only with 20 x 21 strings. It is an old tech. with 3-4 years history. MMOA claimed a new technology with 76 holes in 2005, but I find there are many rackets with 76 holes.
MMOA, Flypower, and more Taiwan-based companies already got those on the market last summer. I got to play with those toys from testers of those brands during my visit last summer, too. Last year, there was a competition in increasing the holes during Taiwan badminton companies because people tend to believe "more is better" and the hole numbers soon became the selling point for those companies (and this thing is still going on now)
It will only make stringer's job a little easier. However, in general, more holes => less durable. Especially with the top holes so close to each other.I would like to get some user feed back from the members here.
The current racket champ in max. string holes is called "awesome", which features 96 holes system. (By looking at it, I think it's crazy and over-done.) This thing came out about 2 months ago in Taiwan, but not widely available.
I have the same idea, so Babolat may only make with 20 x 21 strings to decrease the number of holes for durability. I don't have any impact when changing from normal string pattern to 20 x 21 strings pattern, how are other BCers?? Anyone feel the differences on it??
96 holes, then where will be 4 more strings on the racket. Stringers are hardly to string 11 rackets from 100m roll set strings.
I have a Ashaway racquet which has the exact wording "power 88 frame". Me thinks they are from the same factory as Winex & MMOA etc etc ... When I was at the shop, they also told me that there was a new Ashaway Nano with 96 holes....ehehhe....the model number was 9000 something... Didnt get that though.... 88...more auspicious number ahahah...
88 holes already needs not to share holes for main and cross; if 96 holes, then there will be 8 extra holes and 4 strings. What is the extra 4 strings for?? Any picture of 96 holes racket??
No pics, according to the shop people it is the latest Nano racquet from Ashaway. I remember seeing the words 9000 on it. He counted the holes infront of me, while the other person was stringing my racquet. They were telling me about the 88 holes on mine and how it is better. But he had an incredible look on his face when he counted and said the new racquet had 96 holes on it. I took that it meant something different because as you can see from my other posts, i still dont get what is so special even about 88 holes. All I know is that the racquet does not share stringing holes. So well, apparently it is better but I have not really tested the racquet yet . For all I know he could have said 100 ahahah....
Probably a single-pass racket is less durable than a conventional racket, because there is less material. But a racket strung bottom-top is also more likely to break in the 2 o'clock position than a racket strung top-down. Maybe that's a bigger factor in this case.
