Yikes, ouch. Are you sure? Stadium Sports seem to be quite reputable. I chose the store based on recommendations from this forum

It's well regarded if you google --> site:badmintoncentral.com "stadium sports"

He had 3 x AT900T on the rack : 239200[25] mine, [15] and something else similar.

I just bought it today and will need to confront him in 2 days if this is the case.
Hopefully it will be resolved quickly and I wont have to lodge a case with a consumer protection group so others don't get screwed.

Any chance of a confirmatory 2nd/3rd opinion so I dont make any false accusations please?

There have been others with non matching serials/date codes from REPUTABLE stores and have been verified (via pictures) to be genuine. Stadium Sports is a reputable store as far as I know and these "anomalies" had been discussed before.

It's reassuring for me to know that the serial/date code is not bulletproof.

The following also makes me think it's unlikely to be fake.

The Australian code, AS, is definitely safe although who knows counterfeit rackets will adopt "safer" codes in the future to avoid detection.

This concerns me though.
Post 14 from this thread http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?70802-Discontinued-Yonex-models-Blast-from-the-past-!
suggests that Stadium Sports was listed under suburb "Box Hill" as an official Yonex stockist at the time of posting (May 09). If you check http://www.yonex.com.au/brands/yonex/VIC/stockists.php this is no longer the case. There is no official Box Hill stockist.

I especially dont want to unfairly cast aspersions on a popular retailer, so I will try to get to the bottom of this and post results here.

I can post any pictures required. Thank you all for help.
