For one the code ending on "JP" means it is for the japanese market not the chinese. Only a few shops in China have these imported models but you'd have to know where they are. Secondly the shaft serial numbers don't correspond with the cone code numbers as these shaft serials had been reached back in April 2008 already before either model had even been released ...
Most regular stores should have rackets ending in CH for the cone code.Last edited by demolidor; 01-21-2011 at 01:08 PM.

first is shaft serial and cone code
shaft serial: 7610074
cone code : 020803JP
shaft serial: 7613056
cone code : 111003JP
shaft serial is one of a kind serial number for each yonex racket that made in Japan
that serial number shows you this is racket number XXX that yonex produce
cone code is the date when they make the racket (and for which area this racket for):
it is based on DDMMYX(and 2 letter code area)
D: day
M: month
Y: year
020803JP
2nd of august 2010 for Japan distribution (there are many codes, JP for Japan, UK for United Kingdom, TH for thailand, CH for China, etc.)
now what we do is, to match up, the shaft serial and cone code
for 2010 racket, most of them (if not all of them) have shaft serial 9XXXXXX
your's is too low 7XXXXXX (I think this is shaft serial for racket production 2007-2008)
it doesn't match up that's why we know it is fake
to add, be cautious especially JP that you buy from China
there is case that some shop import the racket (because it is cheaper) but still, best advice: don't buy racket from ChinaLast edited by Avenger; 01-21-2011 at 01:12 PM.
