yonex is always leading a good tech from badminton sections and this time it changes stringing method for supporting high tension
Thanks for the info, it looks the same as before except you start at the bottom instead of the top for the cross strings.
Like I've said before, I don't think too much other than it's "safer" because the T-Joint area is stronger than the top of the racket. I've been advocating starting the cross strings from the bottom for a while.
Because the T-joint area is stronger, aren't we suppose to start with top (if start in the middle does not count)? I mean, the unstrung half takes more stress when being "squeezed", therefore, aren't we suppose to start with a weaker half?
Thats what i think too; you start from the weakest point & finish at the strongest, to eliminate any deformation at all; apparently Yonex doesn't think so, I guess !!!!
Nope, you start at the strongest and end at the weakest point...I usually go 2lbs. less on the last string at the top anyway to minimize stress. You would rather have more tension at the bottom to middle then the top.
Well, since I stopped using Yonex rackets...I have not broken one racket. Well except for that Fleet, but that doesn't count.
Isn't the top portion supposed to have or hold more tension than the lower portion, because as I understand the sweet spot is more towards the upper portion of the racket head ???
I'm not referring to "supposed to". I referring to what's stronger. The T-Join area is definitely stronger than the top of the racket. At least last time I checked.
& I am not talking about strength either last time I checked. I was referring to the tension. Isn't the top portion supposed to have/hold more tension than the lower portion, because as I understand the sweet spot is more towards the upper portion of the racket head ???
The last string is not going to make a big difference. I'm referring to the last string being pulled on the cross string at the top, not the middle. The top of the racket will not hold more tension then the bottom but ideally it should for the sweet spot reason you mentioned.
yonex also changes tension at same stress on main and cross, don't need to do re-shape. for example: ns8000 3u stringing recommendation: 19 - 24 lbs (2006 yonex catalogue) stringing recommendation: main 20-23lbs, cross 22-25lbs (2005 yonex catalogue) yonex badminton series is top-one leader but stringing instructions are always change and disturb all stringers and don't think yonex stringing skill can lead all the market
