    hi,

what do you guys think of the pros pro comet 1 stringing machine? i contacted the comapny and have now ordered it, it is released in may so i hope i will be one of the first to get one. the prices of the old machines were between £300-£500 but now because pros pro has opened there own factory they are only charging between £200-£300.

what do you make of this machine, (it is the blue freestanding one)

Looks like a eagnas crank to me. A number of companies are modifiying Eagnas machines to resell. quite a good price considering it being sold in the UK.

I use them myself. Not too bad.

I think lazzybuddy is trying to say that the machine is capbale of stringing all sorts of rackets. not only badminton. Are you using it solely for badminton rrackets?

i dun know about other racket types. For badminton, Ee pak mentioned that C supports are probably the best in terms of lesser frame distortion. if you are not stringing high in tension, it should not matter that much.

The swivel clamps provide good support. make sure you get swivels for badminton rackets as well. the ones shown in the picture is not for badminton rackets. Good lUck

i've ordered the badminton clamps as well. i'm guesseing this machine has C supports not K supports? it says it comes with a comprehensive tool kit, what would you guess that comes with... needle nose plier, snips, grommet grinder, parallel action pliers?

This machine has V side supports and looks like the current generation of electronic stringing machine minus the electronic tensioning system.

do V-side supports offer enough support or are the other types better?

I think the C supports that taneepak talked about would be like a U so that it supported the frame on the inside and outside.

I doubt if the toolkit would include a grommet grinder or parallel pliers.
Probably small pliers, cutters, awl, craft knife...dunno what else

just wondering, do any of you think that the machine will come with a calibrator or will already be properly calibrated? i don't mind paying an extra £25 for a calibrator.

    thanks in advance.

I doubt it. But, I suppose you can ask the vendor if the machine comes with one.

BTW, if you get a crank machine, IMHO it's imperative that you get a calibrator regardless whether or not the machine's been accurately calibrated from the factory. Because it'll eventually need to be recalibrated.

i was always going to be purchasing a calibrator anyway if the machine didn't come with one. i just wanted to know if i would need to buy it straight away or at a later date.

    thanks for your help.
