I like to start a thread for people to list their stolen gears in hope to curtail trafficking of members badminton gears, and to alert potential buyers of non-legit used badminton gears from suspect sellers.

    Calgary
Two weeks ago my bag was stolen, of all places, not from the gym. The thief is likely a non badminton player and would likely unload the stolen stuffs at a pawn shop, or to some high school kids. If he can't, he might unload them in Edmonton.

Here is a list of stolen items

1 yonex bag (blue with green teal trim and shoulder strap)
1 MP99 3UG4 CD with light blue overgrip (have serial number recorded)
    1 MP90 2UG5 JP (used white overgrip)
1 Armortec 800OF 4UG4 US (used orange overgrip)
1 Carbonex 22 SP 2UG5 (light blue overgrip)
    1 Proace Sweetspot 1000 3UG3

The thief does not have the JP cloth case. So if someone has a MP90 for sale without its original cloth bag, the MP90 is likely a stolen racquet. The thief doesn't have the cab22 and muscle power cases either.

sorry to hear this news. please post serial numbers of the stolen rackets and let all forum readers identify your rackets if they come across them.

this is what serial numbers are for, giving each racket an identity as well as proving their authenticity.

and i urge all YY racket owners to record the serial numbers from now on and keep them at a safe place, IF you treasure your rackets...

This is one of the reasons that I don't ever give out any serial numbers. I kept all numbers in my database :)

A lot of theifs dump things on eBay/yahoo auctions. You might want to use the automatically search notifiing services to keep you informed on new listings. :)

Man, that is shocking. Sorry to hear that.

Three years ago, I lost a Mazzochi front suspension to thef, about $700 plus a few Shimano LX components, and a mountain bike of $600 eleven years ago. I reported them but never recovered them. And then there were some small amounts over the years.

The Canadian laws have very light sentence on thef. Most of the thef don't get reported because we didn't bother to, and most of the thieves don't get charged because our criminal justice system is under heavy burden. The ones that did get charged have some of them got thrown out because of the long line-up. The ones that did get to the court are less than about 10% of the actual number of crimes committed.

Some Canadian minors (under 18 yr old, Criminal Code of Canada) don't consider thef as a serious crime in Canada. They are not necessary children who came from poor background. Some retail shops regularly got targeted (their favourite so called "hang out".)

I heard they toughen up the young offender act not long ago, but I don't know what it was called.

Thanks for everyone's comments and feedback.
As u baddy fans can appreciated, personal racquets can be more than just some racquets;) Ex. my 4U 800OF is off spec, so an exact replacement likely...unpossible:D

I had provided the police and insurance with the serial #. I think publishing SN here now might not help to catch the thief. Same things as cops dont publish evidences of ongoing criminal cases in daily newspaper. So just for your own protection, just dont buy used (or new) rackets from unknown sources. Technically, if u bot a stolen items even unknowingly, it is still against the law and can be arrested in worst case, or item confiscated in light cases.

As an advice, if u do plan to buy used rackets, try to buy from some players u know or reputable members here. Buying from unknown source or someone u can't go back to is risky as the product can be stolen, damaged, abused and u have no recourse.

also ask some questions about the product.
Q:what did u bought the racket from?
A: err, i got it as a gift.

If that guy don't play badminton, something is fishy here.

    Feel so sorry for you Cooler;
We feel so much attached to some rackets & more than the monetary value, people dont understand the emotional value we carry around with some of our rackets; Hope you get those rackets back sooner or later. & wish that the thieves who stole the rackets rot in hell !!!!.
    Good luck.

thank you all for the kind feedbacks and ideas.

The main reason i posted my stolen equips in this forum is to heighten community awareness of these type of incidents so everyone would pay more attention to their equips, and 'hot' merchandises. Latest equips come and go. What's in now is old stuffs in about a year. If we all have this awareness, we would all benefit.

I like to add one more racquet that was inside the stolen gym bag. It was a client's racquet which I had forgot about until he calls me up...'It had been awhile cooler, got my racquet strung yet?'

This racquet is not common so it is easy to notice

Futabaya brand. It's blue and silver.
