Hi Can anyone recommend a place to buy badminton rackets in Bangkok? I will be visiting in August 2006 and presume that they are cheaper there than in the UK. All the reviews I have read talk about Yonex Rackets in Bagkok. I currently use a Carlton Airblade as-ti and am looking for a suitable replacement with similar proporties. I only play doubles and have a good smash but my main game is quick defensive shots. I would be grateful for any comments / information Cheers Craigynewts
You'll find loads of info here: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27044&highlight=bangkok Though be aware that Yonex has lately come up with strict rules on prices for foreigners... might not get such a good bargain in Thailand any more.
Hi Craig, I am travelling to Bangkok May 22nd 2006 and will be looking to buy a Yonex NS9000X while I am there.... I presently use a Karakal SL80 (paid about £70 for it I think a couple of years ago) I hear the NS9000 isn't yet available in Thailand but could well be by the time I arrive at the end of May. If I can't get the 9000, I may look at an alternative Yonex racquet as I don't want to pass-up the opportunity to get a decent Yonex racquet at a vastly reduced price in comparison to the UK (NS9000 has a RRP of £160 in the UK). Upon my return from Thailand, I will post my findings in relation to prices and shops to visit.
The Yonex Bangkok website says it will be out in April. Im sure our Thai compatriots on this forum will give us due notice!
