Hi everyone! I've just moved to Melbourne and I'm finding it a little hard to get back into playing baddy cos I don't know the place very well  I've done a bit of searching through the forums and I haven't quite been able to find the information I need. I hope this is the right place to post this :p

Basically I need to get a new racket and find a place to play (sister keeping my old racket when I moved hehe). I'm aware of several online shops that I can order from, but I would rather go into the store and hold the racket before buying it. Specs may be one thing, but if it doesn't feel good, it's not the same. Sooo... As I'm living in the Bundoora area, are there any stores around that I can get to?

As for a place to play, I know of several places that are east or central Melbourne, but that's like... one and a half hours away... I'll end up spending as much time travelling as I would playing  Does anyone know of places to play north of Melbourne? I'm an intermediate player.

    Thanks everyone! :D

Hi MythrilBlue, can't help you much with places to play but for rackets, you can try www.xinsports.com.au They have a shop in Middleborough Rd, which is about half an hour drive from Bundoora. I think the shop owner is a former China double player.

Hi MythrilBlue, try Diamond Valley Badminton Club at Greensborough. I believe they are selling racquets at the venue as well.

There are 4 courts reserved for Sunday Night social games at:
    Diamond Valley Sporting Complex
    Civic Drive, Greesnborough, Vic. 3088
    Melways Ref: 11 A 10.
    You can call the D.V. stadium on (03) 9435 8298 or 9435 8444.
