About new scoring system.

can anyone tell me about this new system score when point at 20-20. Are the winner should get 2 consecutive point after that although he/ she get the point from opponent serve or the winner should get point from their own service??????????????????????????????????????????? ?????

the winner will be declared after achieving a two point difference.
with the new way of getting points, it'll be two consecutive points.

meaning if its 20-20
A serves it into the net, its now 21-20.
B serves and aces A. 22-20
B is the winner.

or perhaps
A smashes into the body of B. its not 21-20.
A clears it long. 21-21.
B serves it foul. 22-21.
A aces B. 23-21.
A wins.

it doesn't matter how he gets his points.

Imagine it's 29-29 in the final game of the final match of a prestigious tournament, and then the servicing side made a service error. Wouldn't it be a disappointment to the players and the badminton fans?

Isn't this, then, the equivalent to a player serving double fault when facing championship point in tennis? You see badminton is not the only sport that can end in an anti-climatic maner.

True, but the keyword is double fault. Tennis gets 2 chances in a serve and tennis has an offensive serve. How could you penalize a sport with a defensive serve?

Tennis would be the dullest game without its thundering serves. Can you imagine a tennis serve where the racquet head must be discernbly below the hand? Likewise badminton would look foolish with a tennis-type of serve. Two entirely different games. Never should they meet.

Well said, therefore badminton should not be compared to volleyball, table tennis, etc either.

Anyone can tell me is there a way to immediate identify who is the server for Doubles game?? as in old system we just need to remember who is 1st and 2nd server, then we know who is suppose to serve by looking at points

It is the player who was not the server in the last time that team served. For example if players 'A' and 'B' are of the team A+B. 'A' serves and loses the rally to the opposing team. Now the opposing side will serve. Next time the team A+B wins a rally player 'B' will be the server for team A+B. And 'B' should be in and serving from the left hand side court if their score is odd and 'B' should be in and serving from the right hand side court if their score is even.

Imagine it's 16-16 in the final game of the final match of a prestigious tournament, and then the receiving side made a return error. Wouldn't it be a disappointment to the players and the badminton fans?

It has happened that at championship point, the receiving side has been called fault receiver. (Was it a Candra/Sigit v Lee/Yoo match? Was it Yoo that was faulted? anybody remember?)

This can happen in either scoring system though.

Agree that that is very disappointing, however it is the receiving side that commits the mistake. in my example, it was the servicing side that got penalized. In that case, what is the advantage of service?
