Return Match: CCC Vs JT Ultra in March 2007 ???
Hi smashed_1,
It's about time to ask Jacky-C for our Return Match with JT Ultra !!!
I will leave this with you.


BTW, Jacky-C and Tracy-C will be celebrating with us the Chinese New Year 2007 Banquet/Dinner on Saturday 10-Feb-2007.
But I have not heard from you...... whether you are coming or not.


If you are coming, it would a good time to start organising it with Jacky-C

On CNY celebration, Jacky Chen talked to me about certain matters regarding to organsing a return match for following matters
- would there be any ladies in the team
- regarding on organisng the interclub match, he wants to bring 2 teams for the nite
- the possibilty of CCC team B playing against a team B with Jacky Chen (that would be his team D then cos he refer to his last team brought to interclub comp as team C)
Jason, you are still the contact regarding to this matter i believe. So i would leave that for Jacky to hassle you regarding to the typing up of match report+buying gift as discussed on this past friday before.
Anyway, I definitely want to be involed cos i miss out on the last one. Guess all of this are at the asking stage until we wait till handicapp system comes back on.

Our CCC Team attire ???

Jacky Chen, from JT Ultra, has contacted smashed_1 regarding our Return Match.
Below is an email from smashed_1;

Hello Chris,
Jacky has invited for a return match on the 1st of March - Thursday night 8-10:30pm, to be held at Donvale Badminton Club - Whitefriars College, 156 Park Rd, Donvale (mel ref: 49A2).
"The return match format will involve both singles and doubles event, pls let me know your team list 10-12 players, we can make them 2 teams this time, all ladies are welcome.
PS. I understand it's a "friendly match" I will arrange the players as close standard as possible so we can all enjoy the games."
What do you think of that timing.......abit soon?
PS: We should get some CCC attire for unity of our team. Could get some shirts and print eg: 'CCC Badminton Club' on the backs of them. I wonder what style/colour everyone would like? For polo shirts with coolmax polyester material would be something around $20-25 mark....

Regarding to our CCC attire, if smashed_1 can organise it...... I am all for it.
With so many things that I have to organise, I have delayed in dealing with this matter.
yschin, from Malaysia has suggested to have our CCC attire done in Malaysia...... because it's much cheaper to do them there. I think he said each shirt can be done at about AUD$12 (based on my poor memory).
Unfortunately, because of my hectic schedule, I have not time to follow it through. And we do not know when yschin could be returning to Melbourne.


So...... what do you guys think ???

First of all, i have no intention of taking the captaincy from smashed_1 as he is the contact of CCC to Jacky Chen. Following are just mere suggestions to get people talking.
As Chris has always says events have to be organised in stages. Hence the following stages in organising team (as usual)
- deciding the date (in this case 1/3 - maybe we can go around and ask about the availiabity of members on that date while asking them whether they wanna participate in this special event)
- identify the possible candidates (in this case - members only, we would have to ask Chris to give out list of members as the candidates before i am to be confusing myself and ask everybody again)
- ask the possible candidates of the availability for comp
- organise partnership
- give our team list to captain smashed_1
Futher matters regarding the interclub comp:
- team shirt?
- taking pictures (which i am happy to take snapshots unless i am playing that is - i am gonna try to take some non playing people)
- matter of buying gift (maybe it's Jacky Chen's team to buy us a gift this time)
Oh, and i want a singles match!!

I am fine with next Thursday. so count me in please..
on another matter with the shirts.. I suggest we could get our names printed as well as 'CCC badminton'. I've ordered some iron-on names from a internet site (in Adelaide) and they do a pretty good job and not that expensive.

This matter is not only for our Friday Group. If the price is right, we would wish to get all players at various CCC venues/sessions to be involved.

Woah HKHung - slow down man...... your seeming stressed with it already.. its only a friendly
Prelim agenda is posted for initial thoughts.
- No drama if we don't get 10/12 people committed in time we will postpone it 4 weeks, so a forward date can be marked in players diaries. (Will evaluate numbers in 1 weeks time from now!)
- hopefully chris@ccc will play in this one
- If we have only afew keen players for which that date/venue is OK, we could join JT's group for social play (provided it's already a JT social session & time/venue etc is OK by JT).

Same as last time the night is aimed for CCC's say, 'higher' grade available members, however Jacky understands its a friendly and will match standards from his group if we have other keen members wanting to play!

Following invitation for JT & CCC Friendly match
Hello All,
A further invitation received from JT Ultra for JT & CCC friendly match.
How many do interests do we have?
This match can help out the players who might want to join Altona
on the 18th MAR. We can use Altona's format - NSS modified, 1 game to
30pts no settings.
Singles - 1 game to 21pts NSS, no settings, change end at 11pts.
Doubles - 1 game to 30pts no settings, change end at 16pts.
Particulary inviting the Ladies players from CCC. JT have both experienced and non-experienced lady players who can participate in the match.
Proposed details:
1st March - Thursday night, (which is in 2 Thursdays)
8pm-10:30 or 11pm,
Whitefrairs College 156 park road donvale, mel ref: 49A2.
6 players team - total 15 games
(1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, 5-5, 6-6, 1+2, 3+4, 5+6, 1+4, 2+5, 3+6, 1+3, 2+6,
4+5) = 4 games per person.
6 players format = $11.00 per person
We can have 5 players team instead if necessary, similar ideas.

You only 6 player right? That should not be too hard.

Wish I could help you more... but I am working on my own (like you) in arranging for our Return Match with Wesley.
I met with Wesley last night, Monday 19-Feb-2007, and our proposed Return Match with Wesley will be on 16-Mar-2006, to be held at CCC@Waverley Friday 7:30pm-10:30pm. More details will be released soon.
Anyway, let me say that I will be playing in our CCC team against JT Ultra on Thursday 1-Mar-2007.
Whether it's Singles or Doubles for me...... I will be OK.
