My broken Wilson N4, the racket broke suddenly halfway during my game when i was doing a backcourt clear:crying: , I've clashed the racket before, but the place where it broke is definitely not the place where it clashed. I've only strung it at 23Lbs.

The N4 have been my favorite racket with good maneuverbility and ability to product decent smashes. But it's durability is turning me away:mad: . My 10 years old Cab25 is much stronger than this after going through much tougher clashes.

wilson ncodes look to me like they have very poor durability, i have heard many horror stories about N1s breaking and a coach at my club recently had his n3 break after about a month with no racket clashes. The breakage looked quite like the one in this thread although not qiute as bad

the N2/N4/N6 frames are very soft imho. not surprised if they break. read somewhere in this forum if its strung incorrectly, it might affect the racket too.

Did it break from the hit of the shuttle on the frame? The point looks like the connecting point on the frame, which could be one of the weaker points on the frame.

i've seen yonex do the same. this junior national player hit the head of a raquet so hard against a bird and it crumbled jus liek that.

Jackson, sorry to hear that. I own a N2 and N6 so I am disturbed to hear such news. Could you confirm about the strining pattern specifically on the top of the frame where they state 'turbo zone" and there are a number of "grommet-less' holes - were there any double-stringing through any of those holes? There have been warning about the stress on these holes if not strung properly but so far there was not any breakage reported that can be directly linked to that. If you said there is no crash, no mis-hit then the other possibility is this stringing requirement. Look forward to your reply.

For singapore, you need to go back to RSH with your racquet and your proof of purchase. However there is no guarantee also if they will give you a replacement.
Anyway the design of the turbo zone is very week...cos those are the most susceptible place for stresses...be careful when you string tensions of above 20lbs and also find the right stringer to do the job...

    it broke at 10 o'clock...
i guess they should really toughen the 2 and 10 o'clock position like yonex.

Actually feel of the racquet is not to bad...the balance the weight is quite nice...but racquet design has to be improved...
